Thank you Watty, that means a lot to me.

Daddy daughter day today, uneventful so far despite a 05:30 start. £0.33 cashback paid into savings and I have ordered some cedar wood shoe trees for my new pair of Loakes. I was considering buying the branded ones again, but at £15 vs. £40+, I couldn't justify it.

Payday for me, so have updated lots of spreadsheets :j

Thanks all - obliged to point out that I'll be legally advised not to offer advice until I have completed my diploma and even then, only under supervision ;)

One step at a time! :coffee:

Can you look out for optional modules for Spain please :rotfl:. You will be fab :T:T:T.

Me too. Two years until I plan to stop work and I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up :o

Hopefully you'll be like me SL and find out what you actually wanted to be was retired :rotfl:.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

  • Really pleased that you have made the decision. It should be really interesting... To those of us on here, anyway. Look forward to hearing how you get on!
Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D

Great news Ed - you'll be ace!

Mixed results with controlled crying here. With DS1 it was easy, sleep sorted almost instantly. With DS2 it was terrible, he just wouldn't sleep even when the gaps between going in we're at 2 hours +. It was really grim. With DS3 we were too scarred from the DS2 experience so didn't bother. He suddenly sorted himself out at 2.5. Hoping for a DS1 experience for you!
    Updating soon...

Absolutely - and if nothing else we'll do nice family stuff even if we're exhausted during the days :)

Ed, this is fantastic! Seconding Watty's comment - a lot of people on here are already thankful for your input, with all the extra you get from the study course, you'll be wonderful.

Loving the thought that this will happen :j
I must just hijack for a moment to express my frustration. Last January I set up a regular saver with HSBC online and sent DH into town to set one up the same day in branch (they have cocked up his online credentials and account profile but that is another tale) - this week, they matured. His matured 4 days before mine and with 72p more interest. Apparently my on-line application took 10 days to set up and initiate the DD, even though I did all the work and then I have been punished by loss of interest. Not happy. I know it is only 72p but that is not the point. Needless to say after reading your diary for a year I have not followed up with a second, I am trying to do slightly more savvy things this year! I hope you don't mind me venting in your diary - I don't have one. I just had to get it out of my system. Thanks... (slinks away, slightly embarrassed at the outburst) :o
Rats! I have a regular saver with HSBC too ... it's just matured, it's the second one I've had. I didn't set it up at the same time as anything else, so I don't have a comparison the way you do, but I'm determined to shift some of my DDs to another bank and get something else going. Got a lot of financial admin like that to do in the next month.

    Go Ed :j:j:j

So, it looks like we took a bath on our washable nappies after fees and postage - £50.77 sent over to savings - signature updated. As Mrs E reminds me, it's better than nothing and they were just sitting taking up space :)

We've also sold a computer game and I really should move my behind and list my old camera, too.

    Just tootling along...
