I'd say having to choose a lesser car from the fleet of classics definitely qualifies as a first world problem Alex :)

Maybe there should be a level above first world problems, we're not all on an equal footing here in the first world...

That would be zeroth world problems. Love that our old Suzuki is 3 times as efficient as Alex's luxury car. It seems that luxury and waste are pretty much synonymous sometimes ;)

Edit: My apologies Alex, that comment was a little snippy!

Not being an Am@zon booster here, but they have £10 off a £50 spend for today only (banner on main page). Good for any pre-planned spends that you're looking to save money on?

Probably the worst one is my Land Rover - it's now one year old, definitely less efficient than your Suzuki and probably slower. :rotfl:

No need to apologise, Ed. Not everything in this world is about how efficient something is or how cheap it is to own / run / keep ... some people just don't understand. ;);)

    Hi Ed

Just sticking my head round the door to say hi and hope you and yours are well. Will have a bit of a lurk around the board this week aka as 'avoiding updating your own diary' :rotfl:

Cheers Ed, managed to stock up on pet food and get a free book out of it as well. :)

Glad you found something HS, not needing anything here.

Absolutely livid - I have accidentally melted 3-4 6" lines into our new living room carpet with the side of an iron while attaching a veneer strip onto the bookcase. I really am !!!!ing useless at DIY. Most of it is overshadowed by the V1rgin box, but I am really quite annoyed with myself :(

  • Not sure what type of carpet you have and if the damage is bad enough :( for you to want to try and minimise the mark.

I had a similar mark and I used tweezers (to lift the pile on the carpet that had the mark) and a pair of manicure scissors, to trim the top of the mark off (I'm talking a fraction of a mm) just before you think I have a baldy bit on my carpet:rotfl:, still leaving some pile. Just a suggestion, that may help.
