Got lots done yesterday, very productive! :j
    • Last wall stripped in DD's room, just the ceiling and a few messy bits to address. Removed the old shelves from her cupboard (used to be the airing cupboard) and also some old electrics left behind when they removed the immersion heater
    • Taped binbags over the window in our 3rd bedroom, anything for an extra 20 minutes sleep :rotfl:
    • Changed the curtains in our room for a much heavier pair, made a real difference when we were trying to get to sleep
    • Went grocery shopping and picked up some wine for DD's birthday party next week (we have 20+ attending)
    • Took out the rubbish and recycling and took the cardboard recycling to the recycling centre next to the library

    Today should see:
    • Update spreadsheets
    • Sell off £85 of accidental P2P investments, £72 used to pay for yesterday's wine, £13 paid off the 0% CCC
    • Withdrew £1.98 of P2P interest
    • Referred another MSE forumite to RateSetter
    • Off to local Sainsbo's to pick up birthday cake for next week and no doubt napkins, banners, balloons etc.
    • Pick up walker for DD from local Gumtre3 seller (a bargain at £8)
    • Strip ceiling in DD''s room
    • Order some carpet samples from the Axm1nster outlet

Sounds good, Ed - my blackout material, with which I lined my curtains, was one of my best buys ever, it travelled with me when I moved house.

Be careful using black material as blackout stuff. If it get direct sunlight there's a chance you can crack the pane as the heat differentials are large.

We managed to crack our little'uns pane this way. 2 years on I should replace it but that's not very mse.

Jings! Thanks for the warning mate, South facing window so very bright until mid afternoon. Hopefully be ok as she'll only be in the room for another 1-2 weeks, tops

That's just the adults :T I've bought 6 bottles of wine and 12 beers (figure 50% of guests drinking?) Hopefully that will do, inlaws will probably have some leftovers as well.

Managed everything from my list with the exception of carpet samples, will explore that shortly. Currently watching rugby while updating spreadsheets and drinking our £4 luxury wine

Is the £4.00 wine any good? If so, what is it and where from?
