Mrs E now has a SIPP, it is a weight off! We'll now be putting away £700/m+ from the end of this month :j

Was up to 11:30 last night making freezer cubes for DD  I managed 12 dinners of poached free range chicken, potato, brown rice, leek and carrot casserole with HM no salt chicken broth. A bit tiring and messy, but I'm decidedly underwhelmed with pre-prepared savoury pouches (although the sweet ones are good). In any case, I was able to make the equivalent of £9 worth of those for about half price, with total quality control.

£2 OPed (a few pence cashback and a ET). Updated some spreadsheets today. What with Mrs E's income about to go down to £0/m and c. £5k to spend on the bathroom, things are looking a bit bare.... A cunning plan is needed.
  • Your DDs food sounds lovely Ed, if she doesn't want it I'll have it :D It is great to know exactly what's going into their bodies. Prepared baby food had come on a lot even in the five years between my two but there's no substitute for making your own. I made all my DS's food lovingly from scratch with organic ingredients, taking care to ensure he had the right food groups, I spoon fed him engaging with him all the time. When DD came along she ate whatever we were eating & largely fed herself as I was too busy to help her! She's essentially a scavenger now. Second child syndrome I think they call it :rotfl:
Life is changing...but I'm still Money Saving!

    Feeling blue.

Food sounds lovely - but she'll probably prefer the fluff ball from under the sofa :D.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Food always sounds delicious on here. :)

You do seriously well money wise, too. IIRC, you have a smaller income than my wife and I, yet seem to make it stretch a lot further.
    2018 totals:
    Savings £11,200
    Mortgage Overpayments £5,500

Just catching up on your diary! When you were telling us about the baby food making it got me remembering about when my youngest was a baby - did the same freezing hundreds of ice cubes of various things - problem was she was a poorly baby and the thing she liked best was sweet potato - I mixed it in with everything to help her tolerate different things - her little nose actually turned orange with the carotene in it!!!! (thankfully it was temporary and at 11 she now has normal pigment!!!) word of warning I guess! Pureed pears are also great for adding to less palatable veg such as spinach if DD is fussy - strange combination I know! But it works!!!
