Sounds lovely, and the beach looks great!

Keep dreaming and saving, and I'm sure you'll be on that beach in no time.

    I quite fancy Campbeltown.

Only an hour from the west coast by ferry (to Troon or Ardrossan), possible to make the drive to glasgow if one absolutely had to go....(unlikely), and good possibilities for self employment or maybe even employment.

Just not sure about the broadband speeds....

I have never been to Campbeltown, fairly unusual for me as my folks dragged us up and down the country as children for work.

It might sound lame, but I'd quite like a croft :o

Not for any pie eyed nostalgic throwback to what was (and probably still is) a very hard life for lots of people, but because I think you could eke out a pretty good existence if you had common sense, a bit of capital, t'internet and a wee bit of entrepreneurial ability :)

Saw one for sale in the telegraph on Saturday for, I think, £88,000. Was very tempted, mortgage free, would have ample money in the bank, could clear mortgage on our rental property and have an income from that and Mr Watty very practical and would supply the common sense and I could maybe run my business scaled back from there. Put off by the cold, the wind, the rain, not being Scottish, being outsiders, not drinking whisky and the thought of moving large dog and 2 horses all the way there. Too far from southern softie life for me :rotfl:
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Ah, meltdown Monday, not the best day in t'office :o

Home now and trying not to procrastinate with a job application, not trying particularly hard.

Have decided to sign up for another half marathon. That and £17 profit from spins and a matched bet is just about my only news for now.

A bit better today, but not impressed with my 08:30-18:30 shift. Before all you nurses and teachers pipe up, yes, I have a wussy office job :rotfl:

£26 profit from a free spins offer, will hopefully lock in £3-4 from a small free bet on the footie this evening.

So glad to be home, Mrs E is working on a job application for a sweet home working job, best get out of her way.

Also, in MFW news for someone else, my folks bought a small house somewhere sunny outright today, lucky gits. I've been informed that I'm now co-heir to 1/5 of it :p

Have you read the ragged trousered philanthropists?

That was my dad's favourite book. I have his copy in the loft. It's got in inscription in the front, addressed to him 'for services to plumbing'. Which is odd as he was a carpenter!

Good luck on the job hunting front, Mr E.

Bet you didn't have the score though :rotfl:.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)
