I certainly have. I'm putting off finishing this one as it's the only novel that I've not read. Silly Orwell, not writing more books for me ;)

    Hi Ed,

I'm just catching up a bit as I've AWOL for a while and its great to 'hear' you're feeling chirpy! Well done for the half marathon! We've taken up cycling again but 7.5miles has been the longest so far. The trouble with living by the sea is that everywhere is up hill!

Keep trying on the job front, we all support you :)

    Janey x

Edit: forgot to say - I'm adding that book to my list as I'm completely stuck for what to read at the moment! Loved Animal Farm and 1984 which I read at school and college.

It felt like the entire run was uphill, going for a nice flat race next.

I loved that book, even though I felt like my heart would break at points. The only book I've ever read and then gifted a copy to someone else as a result. Then again, I'm a massive fan of 'wasn't it !!!! in the past?' books :)

Not convinced that it's all that different now, we see some real characters passing through our neck of the woods, all malnutrition and cider..

    I want to live here:

    Hi Mr E,
The place where you want to live looks pretty cool. Where is it?

It doesn't actually look like anyone else lives there. Are you sure about this "plan"? I wouldn't mind living along the North scotland coast, somewhere around Smoo's cave. What put me off is it's scary driving at night. There's so much wildlife. Plus the poor broadband service, which apparently is intermittent.

Sorry the job interview wasn't successful for you but kind of relieved too as it might have been a frying pan - fire hop kinda thing if they were that rude.

I come from a family of Sussex hop growers / pickers somewhere along the line, my mum used to have photos of them "hopping" in the good old days.

Glad you've had a pleasant weekend ... sounds like the perfect leisurely Sunday morning!

The beach is on Barra, I think the other 1,000+ people on the island might object if I plonked a house down there :)

Apparently you can get slow broadband there. If we could buy a house outright I figure that we could live there with a p-t job and my MB winnings. It never hurts to dream.

The day also stretched to a walk in the park and I've made some duck prosciutto.
