Really? Why would this invalidate the insurance?
Gut feeling.
"Oh, so your roof has leaked and drowned your cat? How unfortunate! What's that? You recently had the roof replaced? In that case you should contact the roof installer and claim against their insurance. What? You replaced the roof yourself? Jog on sonny! :rotfl:"0 -
Alex would never employ an insurer that used such vulgar language.0

I can't really see that being the case: I do all my own car maintenance and if I were to be involved in a collision this fact would not invalidate my insurance, surely it's the same thing?
That said, if I were to replace the roof and it leaked I wouldn't be calling my buildings insurance provider, I'd either sort it out or cut my losses and call a roofer.smallholdingsister wrote: »Alex would never employ an insurer that used such vulgar language.

Not at all. A collision is not related to the car maintenance, a possible roof collapse etc. is very much related to your DIY abilities!0 -

I ought to clarify, I suppose I meant to say a collision caused by brake failure etc.
Do agree about the potential roof collapse, that's why I'm doing my 'homework' with this project rather than just having a go.
Isn't tomorrow the day you find out if you've any offers on your flat?2018 totals:

Have you ever actually read the full small print of your car insurance? All of it? I'm not sure whether there are some repairs that you need to be a mechanic to complete. Hell, you can't even get an iP@d repaired at a non-Apple dealer without invalidating the warranty :rotfl:
Several insurance policies will not cover you if you balls up DIY and need it fixed. Your approach of getting a professional to fix any snafus is probably a good idea

If it's any consolation, we're all suffering along side you :rotfl:A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0
