I do all of my saving/transfers/op etc the day after payday
Matched betting means that my income fluctuates wildy. I have my real job and then what I make from it, this can be £50 in a bad month, but has been ££££ on a few very fortuitous occasions. (Edit - MB, my real job pays more than £50 :rotfl:)Not sure if I've asked this before but do you drink the whisky or buy it as an investment?
At present? Neither. As I've had some accidental fortune based on picking a couple of very nice bottles of wine, I thought I might extend the experiment to whisky. Highly liquid investments are always the best, as they're easy to dispose of if they fall in value0 -
Another beautiful sunny day here in Glasgow, full of the joys of spring :j
Had breakfast out at a nice local cafe, only slightly tarnished by the terrible singing of the garrulous waitress!
On that note, my pivot chart points out that 'Restaurants' and 'Alcohol' are my 5th and 6th highest expenditures in June, respectively. Hey ho, this is time I'll never get back, I am sure that things will settle down once I'm back in the office.
Cash ISA opened for DD, £65.60 transferred over to keep her equities/cash balance at 70/30. This is me attempting to allow for reasonable growth with a little capital protection.
My pals at the gummint have sent me £41, she's practically paying for herself already :rotfl:
This post was interrupted by a nappy change and a feed, it's a busy old life.0 -

Boo!
It would appear that my MB sideline has been dealt a massive blow by the decision by another two bookies to severely restrict the size of bets that we can place with them. This means that I am now in the unenviable position where there are only 3-4 useful UK bookies who will take my money freely. This will seriously affect profitability
Part of me wants to cut off my nose to spite my face and just knock it on the head after Royal Ascot, but the more sensible part of me knows that there will probably be small amounts to be made over the next couple of years, just not as much. We will be able to join a lot of the good bookies again for Mrs E, but not until we move house.
So a little gutted, unsure how to proceed and perhaps a tiny bit shellshocked as it has been a fantastic little money spinner. At least I made hay while the sun shone and have hung on to c. £5,000 of my profits.
Other than that, keeping myself distracted with a productive morning.- £10 to savings (covers me for the weekend)
- £18 to S&S ISA pot (ditto)
- Made ££ from MB offers
- Went to L1dl for groceries (half price peanut butter om nom nom)
- Opened a complaint for an item not received from an Am@zon seller
- Replaced the car wheel trims, inflated the tyres, hoovered and washed the car, ordered some replacement fittings for the rear license plate, ordered a 'Baby on board' sign
Feeling a bit useless.0 -
Feeling useless after that lot?
Tell Mrs E she looks beautiful.0 -
That is a good idea.
It would appear that everyone ever who has achieved FI has done so through some sort of life hack or gimmick (massive salary, extreme frugality, freelance work, being a slumlord).
I felt that MB was my hack. What now?0 -
