Today I am mostly doing grown up babysitting, coaxing monosyllabic answers out of people who're important enough to earn £75k, but can't write a coherent sentence about their staff :D

Normally it would frustrate me, but it's so damn easy, the sun is shining and sometimes it feels like you can tiptoe through all of the office crap without getting your shoes dirty.

I went for a lovely walk on my lunch break, somewhere I'd never seen before. Glasgow (like all cities) is a fascinating mix of ultra-modern and trendy with old and crumbling and everything in between.

I wonder if I'd enjoy a walking tour?

Back to the office now, grabbing 5 minutes at the end of my break to read a journal over on Early Retirement Extreme from someone I suspect is a MFWer!

Just catching up, went to Gouves with my wife before our boys were born, we loved it, just the right mix of active without being too busy and good beach with plenty of room for everyone. Hope you enjoy!

  • Excellent. A lovely holiday like that will soon deal with the exhaustion!
Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D

    Sounds ideal :)

All cooking finished, won £5.50 or so on a free slots offer, transferred money for villa deposit.

Now to do a million dishes and then relax!

We went to gouves a few years ago, Dave reckons s one of the few holidays were he felt instantly relaxed. Hope you have a great time, seem to think the little tavernas were particularly nice there.

Another beautiful sunny day, nowt to do this evening as I've made dinner for tonight + tomorrow already and the place is tidy :)

I'd completely forgotten that the Commonwealth games were up your way this summer.

It'll be exciting for you to go to one of the events. Hope you see some Scottish wins.....unless they are playing England of course:rotfl:

Although my family history research did reveal a Scottish great grandmother which was quite exciting. She was born way up north, in the Moray Firth area.

I've mostly avoided the Sunday blues for about a year and a half now as I meet up with friends late on a Sunday evening - and I crash straight to bed when we're done so I don't get time for the blues to kick in before I hit Monday morning again.

However I REALLY get the blues when we can't meet up for one reason or another.

It would appear that I am overdue... Yesterday I spent 7 hours straight redoing my fish tank. It was brutal, and the wee !!!!!!s have already dug up half the plants

Will try and get a photo soon, just letting things settle down. There is a very odd smell coming from the tank, no doubt because of the potting soil layer. It's perfectly clean, but it does smell 'garden-y' and is unusual. Fish seem happy enough, I can see where the catfish have marked out their nesting sites already :T

A good week for Freedom, slight dip from last week, but that was only because the first few weeks were so successful. I am expecting the week coming to have substantially lower savings, because I am massively extended on matched bets at present (to the tune of something like £1k!) That money will all be coming back with profit, but I can't save what isn't there ;)

Financial highlights for the week ahead include £100+ of MB profit for me, 3 eBay auctions closing at the start of next week and various free slot machine offers for Mrs E.

    Week 23/05/2014
    Saved This Week £505.90
    Invested This Week £0.00
    Weekly Total £505.90
    Saved Total £1,882.74
    Invested Total £150.00
    Total £2,032.74
    £ Increase (Week) £505.90
    Average £/Week £508.19
    % Increase (Week) 33.13%
    Income £ £6.78
    Income £ Increase (Week) £1.69

I have just realised that I am subconsciously copying my weekly SLA roundup from work :o
