i thought netflix was a bit rubbish when i had it on the two week trial to be honest. we couldnt find any decent kids films. my partner and i both enjoyed not having to shell out for breaking bad dvds though. so that was worth it i guess!0

I have used both Lovefilm and Netflix. Although cancelling my subscription with both, I have returned to Netflix. Been back with them approximately 8 months.
I initially chose Netflix for films only. I only pay £5.99 a month but I think it may be slightly higher now to new members. What I have enjoyed the most is the tv series. I have really managed to get my monies worth from this. I watched the whole of Breaking Bad, Orange is the New Black and American Horror Story. Some if not all are exclusive to Netflix in the UK.

I too would recoomend Netflix, I've not tried Amazon only because it annoys me very much if when I look for something I find it but charged at an extra 20 quid for the series... I'd rather not see it at all.
To me it beats trying to record something with my v+ box, when in most cases it would suddenly stop recording and we'd end up missing one or two episodes, every time.
Or when we find a new series but it's already half way through and we have no way of catching up with the old episodes.
I use Netflix for TV series (my only criticism would be that it's too american, there isn't enough UK and European stuff in there, some but could be more).
But nothing beats the good old BBC for documentaries, the recent Shipwrecked, Art in China, Treasures of Ancient Egypt, the story of Women and Art, were absolutely fantastic (4od and 5 demand are full of rubbish reality shows or pseudo-documentaries, very cheap to make, more like a tv version of the daily mail...)0 -

I've got a measly 6mb wired connection and Netflix works fine, streaming HD pictures without stuttering. Its a sold service, rarely crashes, etc.
I stream Netflix via a Roku box which has a decent srteaming buffer built in, but on saying that the android app works just as well on my tablet and also via PC. We're looking at about 5-10 seconds before the film starts, but once it starts its fine.
Unlike NowTV, which is the biggest pile of rubbish I've ever seen. Picture quality is like watching a pirate DVD, constant buffering, obviously designed to force you to buy a Sky satellite package to get the decent HD pictures.Anger ruins joy, it steals the goodness of my mind. Forces me to say terrible things. Overcoming anger brings peace of mind, a mind without regret. If I overcome anger, I will be delightful and loved by everyone.0 -
Id say Netflix as you can watch anything you want all for the £5.99 or however much it is now whereas with Amazon Lovefilm dont you need Amazon Prime to get access to some films and TV shows ?0

I have both....
Netflix is easier to use, it has a better interface, and if you want to use it on an Android mobile device other than a Kindle, this is the one to get. Netflix has some of its own series.
Amazon I love film (which I get through prime) has a lot more choice, and Amazon also commissioned some series. However, it is not so simple to use, and while it will keep your places on films and TV series, it won't have the option to 'continue watching' on the opening page like Netflix does. There is no app for non Kindle android devices.
Cost wise, they are almost the same, £5.99 per month for Netflix, and £72 a year for Amazon prime, so they are within pennies of each other, but the Amazon prime also gives some other benefits, however, it also has to be paid for yearly in advance, whereas netflix is paid monthly and can be cancelled at any time.
I think if Netflix price may be going up, as I did have an email from them saying that it would be going up, but they guaranteed to hold it the same price for existing customers for two years.0 -

I had lovefilm with my bank which was changed to amazon prime which I used probably once a week. my bank stopped offering it so I decided to try netflix. I watch netflix daily. Better content and the series are top notch. Netflix > Amazonprime/lovefilm0
