Yes, what everyone needs to remember is that you can't say ANYthing without offending someone, and even if it's something not directly relating to or concerning the person in question, they will probably still take offence.

As others have said, mountain/molehill.

Seems you can't say anything without someone seeking to be offended. Weird means different/strange, so I'd agree that anyone behaving outside of expected norms is weird.
It's the same PC nonsense that makes you scared to say the word "normal" in case someone abnormal gets offended.

Well, my son is 15, so still a child, After calling him a weirdo, he then accused my son of costing several drivers their jobs, which is a total lie, having checked the allegation with the Union secretary.
I have not had the opportunity to talk to him, as our breaks never match, but I heard that after the incident he saw the Union rep and admitted he said something out of order, and said the same to his girlfriend.
When we sit down and chat, I shall point out the error of his ways, listen to what he has to say.

Hi Stefano,
I'm a stammerer and maybe I could take a different angle on this. I've been on the receiving end of likely insults, and getting laughed at etc.
By all means if you feel you need to write a complaint then do so, you are well and truly in the right.
But in all honesty I'd let this go.
These people are such a small minority and they are really not worth your time and emotion. The most you'll get from the guy is a half hearted apology it seems.
For every person like this, you'll find ten people who are considerate and genuinely interested in you and your son.
You might think this is the weak approach, and you have every right to be angry, but the best thing I think you can do is put this out of your head, assure your son this isn't an issue (you don't want this snowballing) and get back to your happy lives.
