"it is an offence to remove..." is that true?

I had my rejection letter all ready (The Range, St Helens) but the information on here is making my head spin.
The sticky envelope thingy from Care Parking said "it is an offence for any person other than the driver to remove this notice". Is that true? It was on private land.
Elsewhere on MSE it says you could take the militant route and reject the charge completely, which I was inclined to do, whilst not actually naming the driver. Others are saying exploit the appeals procedure and beat them that way.
I'll try again when I'm awake. BUT - is it true, about it being an "offence"??? Ta.

It's only an offence in the cloud cuckoo land of PPC, where they think they are able to do exactly the same as Council or Police notices - in fact it's part of the same intimidation scam to look like a "legal" notice.
While it may well be an offence covered in the legislation of ON-street council controlled parking - or police action - this would appear to be a speculative private invoice. As such, there is no 'offence" in removing it.Under no circumstances may any part of my postings be used, quoted, repeated, transferred or published by any third party in ANY medium outside of this website without express written permission. Thanks James. Not sure it will help my appeal, or rejection, but as it is a lie, I think it's worth pointing out.0

Technically a theft may be disclosed but the reason the wording appears on the wrappers is to continue the mimicking of the real think. Although the PPC's will argue until the cows come home that that isn't the case.My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -

Rather than worry about this technical detail, which won't help you either way, establish please if this is England or Wales - or Scotland - and then if England or Wales take the easy route of winning on appeal with no need for further worry. You need to "appeal" to the PPC within time. They will reject, and then you most likely win via POPLA with a correct grounds - ask on here before sending it in.
It's unsatisfactory to "appeal" to these scams, but it's the path of least resistance and bother to you, and very often works.Under no circumstances may any part of my postings be used, quoted, repeated, transferred or published by any third party in ANY medium outside of this website without express written permission. Re dealing with the parking charge - as this was a windscreen ticket - and assuming you don't live in Scotland or NI - the advice here would be to wait for the postal notice to keeper (should arrive 29 - 56 days after w/s ticket) and then appeal as reg.keeper, 1st to the parking company using the template 1st appeal you will find in the NEWBIES sticky thread and then if/when you get your rejection notice and POPLA code - submitting an appeal to POPLA costing them £27+vat into the bargain.
Have a read of the NEWBIES thread

Just had a stand up row in The Range. Well, I was rowing, the manager was mumbling. In front of a load of customers, which was good.
It was in England, and I was about to take the militant approach, but I think I will follow this advice instead.
Having looked at the notices again, the "contravention" seems to be against the rule that says you must stay on site the whole time the car is parked! Never seen that before. Even more angry now!0 -
Doesn't matter - it's a made up rule anyway.
And "what happened on the day" (mitigation) is entirely irrelevant ... the appeals attack the legal foundation of the PCN claim, not why the PCN shouldn't have been issued.0 -

I don't think the militant approach advised here means getting close to punching the manager's lights out. :rotfl:
Anyway, well done on tackling him head-on and with an audience, even if it achieves nothing immediately for you, there will be a crowd of people a bit wiser about the scam.
Time to take a more relaxed and guaranteed route - the good old appeal process. All contained in the NEWBIES sticky. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Superb advice thanks chaps. My initial letter, which I haven't sent thank goodness, was a model of spleen and invective.
TO CONFIRM: should I do nothing until the RK letter comes in??0 -
