have you tried talking to him as you slooooooooooowly get up and then talk to him when you return, stroke him as you sit down. and have a few dreamies in your hand so he can take them as you move to distract him.

At least he is not following you everywhere and you fall over him! She who must be obeyed, follows both of us everywhere, was sat on the side of the bath, whilst OH was having a soak the other day, She tries to get on my knees when I am sitting in the loo and tried to get in the shower cubicle when I went for a shower the other morning, then shot off due to the water and gave me a look to kill.

She is very food orientated, so follows you into the kitchen, even if you are only making a cuppa. She jumped 5 foot into the tumble dryer the other night, the door was open. She has been found in the larder unit in the kitchen, lying on all the dry food packs.

In all she is a food a holic, she has put on so much weight since we got her. The rescue centre said she was hunger on the hob, whilst they had her, ravenous, but was feeding 6 kittens at the same time. She was all skin and bones and looked tiny, now she is tiny with little legs, but a big belly!

I am dreading taking her to the vets, keep putting it off, as she is a little blob at the moment! I am sure she is getting fed elsewhere too, as no way is she outing on all this weight from what she eats in our house. She must have another owner too !

That sounds familiar! Girl cat tries to get on my lap when I'm on the toilet, boy cat opens the bathroom door to get in - he hates the door shut. He curls up on my dressing gown while I'm in the bath.

Yeah the days of bathroom peace are long gone. I see this little paw come round the edge of the door and he pushes on it till he gets in. Then I turn the shower on and he gives me a look of utter disgust as he runs away.... every single day.

    I love my cat :)

Thankfully Barnes doesn't do lapsitting in the bathroom, but he will use his 'open' litter tray if I am 'on the loo'. in fact if he comes in bathroom with me he 'uses' the litter tray almost as a show of 'solidarity'. because more often than not - he hasn't actually produced anything.

Hubby has to have his morning constitutional with several cats milling around - he regularly has 3 on his lap like a pile of spaghetti, and a couple of more around his feet. My best girl likes to perch on the ceiling-height cupboard next to the shower and peer at me.

It's really starting to feel like Derek is becoming part of the household now. This is him this evening, when me and OH were lying on the sofa together and Derek was on the other sofa, I called him over and he trotted across, jumped onto our sofa, and draped himself over OH's leg with his backside on my foot:

I'm so glad we chose him :-)
