Hey, nothing to report *yet*.... but first I'm after a bit of advice...
My hair is in such bad condition I've had to go from waist length to shoulder length in 3 months in an attempt to get it healthy, Ideally she'd of taken another 2 inches off it this time, but that was waaay too scary a prospect. I have horrific split ends, but I didn't use any heat on it, I only even blow dry it once every couple months, I don't use chemicals on it, it isn't died, I use a conditioning mask twice a week, and use hair serum every so often... Does anyone have any idea what I can do to try help it out?
The next problem... I don't like my new hair cut the straight/wavy it goes naturally, so I'm now wanting to put lose curls in every now and then, any suggestions as to how to protect my hair when I do ?
x
I have long hair with a tendency to be dry and frizzy if not looked after. I probably spend more time and money on my hair than anything else. Few things that have helped me...
* I dilute my shampoo. I squirt a bit into a old measuring jug and add a few splashes of water before adding to my hair. Consequently I never get masses of lather, but you don't actually need bubbles to clean your hair. This tip was given to me as a teenager when I was growing up in India surrounded by women with amazing hair. Their theory was shampoo is far too concentrated and harsh to put directly onto the hair. They also told me to wash my hair as I would my most delicate cashmere, the image stuck!
* I stopped using a hairbrush, now I just use an extra wide toothed shower comb.
* If it's a very windy day I will wear my hair up. Every knot you have to untangle is a potential to cause split ends.
* I used hair serum whenever my hair feels dry and try to do a hair mask once a week.
* I try to make sure my diet has enough iron and B vitamins.
* I don't blow dry my hair.
Some more UU's...
Body Shop Brazil nut whipped body lotion. Lovely, rich and moisturizing. Bit undecided about the smell. Sometimes it was delicious, at times it seemed cloying. Was part of a gift set from a friend. I'm not sure if I would buy again as our family is trying to be cruelty free and there was some debate if Body shop are acceptable, since they do not test on animals but L'oreal who owns them, do.
Palmolive Naturals Anti-Dandruff Shampoo. Really quite impressed with this. I usually use Head and Shoulder's during winter months when my scalp gets dry and itchy, but it is really harsh on my hair and dries it out. This one was gentle on my hair but sorted out the scalp problems, smelt great and was inexpensive. WDBA I think I may have found a new HG shampoo for winter!:jNo buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Evening ladies. Hope everyone is enjoying the bank holiday weekend and getting some time to relax. 1 IN and 1 OUT to declare -
IN 104 - Garnier micellar water - love this! Needed a new eye make up remover
OUT 52 - Eye make up remover pads - really cheap as from a pound shop. Think I am going to stick to the garnier micellar water from now on as it is so much easier to get eye make up off with0 -
So. I was walking past John Lewis this afternoon. Before I knew it the shopping pixie grabbed my purse and bought a lippie and powder from Lancôme and picked up a fabulous free gift.
Then that pesky pixie bought some Una Brennan cleansing oil which was a third off.
All totally not my fault0 -

Lots of interesting talk about hair, I use the Charles Worthington balm and it is lovely. Re heatless curls I do cocoons on DD overnight and in the morning she has the most amazing spirals.

I'm planning a trip to the Trafford Centre branch of JL today or tomorrow as I need to get a GiftCard for my friend's birthday on Thursday. The purse pixies will no doubt be entrapped the whole time as MrM will be there as security guard!!
The Giftcard is going to be purchased with monies from the collection from all the staff at work however I'm planning on some OUTS from my stash to make up a pressie individually from me for her. Am going to give her a bottle of OPI Nail Envy (Sensitive and Peeling), OPI Avoplex to Go and a tube of L'occitane Jade hand cream.
Will "need" to go to Lush as well as my Porridge soap is being used up a lot quicker than it used to as Emma is now using it too.
Have a short PP list for this month:-
L'occitane shea butter hand cream (lingering from last PP list)
LE IBST (I decant 200ml into 30ml spritzer bottle and the 200ml is now empty with the 30ml bottle feeling light too)
Aussie Conditioner (probably quite a bit left in this but it's lost it's shape)
Grace Cole Nectarine and Pear body lotion (tube very light - will be so glad to see this go)
Lush Porridge soap - have a small slither left but as mentioned above will replace it.
Elemis Pro Collagen cleansing balm - can see bottom of pot
Enjoy the rest of your Bank Holiday weekend ladies. x
PS. Did anyone here watch "The Following"? Saw the Finale last night and still feel really tense. Great TV. I'll miss it this time round.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!
