Just to echo what fizz said. I bought some coconut oil and left it on overnight. It really did calm my hair.

The most amazing hair treatment I ever had was Espa Pink hair & scalp mud. I'm saving my stash cash for their next discount code- the mud left my hair silky for ages. It's expensive though....

Hey, nothing to report *yet*.... but first I'm after a bit of advice...
My hair is in such bad condition I've had to go from waist length to shoulder length in 3 months in an attempt to get it healthy, Ideally she'd of taken another 2 inches off it this time, but that was waaay too scary a prospect :(. I have horrific split ends, but I didn't use any heat on it, I only even blow dry it once every couple months, I don't use chemicals on it, it isn't died, I use a conditioning mask twice a week, and use hair serum every so often... Does anyone have any idea what I can do to try help it out?

The next problem... I don't like my new hair cut the straight/wavy it goes naturally, so I'm now wanting to put lose curls in every now and then, any suggestions as to how to protect my hair when I do ?
    x

My hair is very easily damaged as well. Especially where my eye mask strap rubs at night! For heatless curling, try looking at something called 'curlformers', which are quite hair friendly, or tying it up with rags (which is what they did in the past before electrical curling equipment!)

I had a trip to a designer outlet today, where they had a BS outlet. Picked up quite a few bits there, as a lot of things were cheaper than the normal shops, and also had 46% off. So INS:

    Spa Wisdom washing grains
    Rainforest hair butter
    Honey Mania soap
    Shea Butter soap
    Mango Soap

I'm not sure why I felt I needed so much soap. This brings me up to 6 bars! I prefer soap to shower gel these days, although I have a lot of shower gels to get through as well!

I have one, maybe two, more applications of the Pink Mud mask left :(
It is the only thing that really soothes my scalp when it flares up. I'm looking for something else to replace it though as it is v expensive (mine was in a gift from Liberty)

pixitotts - I'm sorry that you had to cut your hair :( Mine is waist length and I would be shocked if I had to cut that much at once. I had a weird experience with coconut oil - I tried it as a mask about three times and it appeared to make my hair fall out/shed. (I had the same experience with the Dove Oil Intense Mask). I've not heard about this happening to anyone else though so I think it's worth trying as most people find it wonderful and it's very :money:.

I had to switch to SLS free shampoo a few years ago because my scalp was so irritated. I think that using more gentle products on my hair helped. I agree with FizzWhizz about treating your hair gently. Like you my hair isn't dyed and I don't use heat on it. I use a travel TangleTeaser (it works better than the normal one for me) and brush it every day with no problem. (My hair is naturally straight. I'd love to have curly hair like FizzWhizz!) I tie it back in a low ponytail at night using a fabric band that claims not to stress the hair. The best treatment I've used is the Charles Worthington Moisture Seal Intense Rescue Melting Balm. I put this on dry hair an hour or so before I wash it and I'm always surprised by the difference it makes. (This pot is going to last forever so it's surprisingly :money: and often on offer). I only use it about halfway down my hair and although it's coconut oil based it is great. My hair drinks it up! I only wash my hair about once a week. I suspect this helps but I'm lucky that is what suits my hair best.

The only other thing to consider is if you are getting enough Vitamin D? My hair went through a very bad patch (shedding far too much) and it turned out that my Vit D levels were almost non-existent. (I'm pretty much housebound though and it came up in a regular blood test.) Taking Vit D gradually helped. I think someone else mentioned Silica supplements? Was it you, Dolly? I'd quite like to try those myself.

The last thing I'll mention is that I trim my own hair (I have proper hairdressing scissors and follow a YouTube tutorial). It's partly because it's tricky for me to keep a hairdressing appointment but it also means that if I spot any split ends I can deal with them immediately.

Anyhow. Sorry for the long post, just like FizzWhizz! I hope you find some answers :)

    Warning - possible enabling post!

Val, have you seen the LG new beauty product of the month?, thought of you when I saw it advertised:D

Thanks maddiemay. It's typical that they have this offer now that I have ordered mine. Mind you I am on the third instalment of EP so I suppose I can't say that either. Am gonna get a Bronze N Brighthen for my hols though.

On this point I have an IN to declare in the form of a 400ml bottle of Elemis Tan Accelerator. I have got into a very heated argument with the supplier though which has left me feeling really aggrieved. I got it from Salon Skincare. I got an email with a discount code and admittedly the product I ordered was already discounted and said that the code would not apply. Anyway thought I'd give it a go like everyone else on the Glitch thread seems to and at Checkout it told me that the discount had been applied. It then charged me the price without the discount so I emailed them and pointed out that their site had accepted the code. What ensued then was a volley of the most belligerant emails ever culminating in them telling me to return the product at my own expense if I was that bothered! Told them I wouldn't be but would not be using them again. Not that they're going to be that bothered I'm sure. Last time I ordered from them I got an email a couple of days later asking me to review their service on an independent site and I am so hoping I get this again. The review will not be pretty!

    Welcome back smartcat. x

I looked at the beauty section in the duty free in Barcelona a couple of weeks ago and I have to admit, I was really disappointed. Everything I "knew" the UK prices of was more expensive -- this was across several brands too. I found the same in Dubai; didn't stop me having a MAC splurge though, the reason being that we had dirham left over and converting it back to sterling would have "cost"… yeah, weak excuse, I know :D

I hope you have better luck bargain hunting, poppy!

That's progress of a sort though isn't it, that you recognise that items are not a bargain and don't buy. Everyone has a weakness though and you are forgiven your Mac one. Plus you saved on the currency conversion :rotfl:

Lots of splutterers but no UUs :wall: :wall: :wall:

Yesterday I had such an urge to buy something. It was horrible! I managed to resist but only because I was thinking about having to report in here :rotfl:

I think it was because I was feeling down about my OH being away for so long (he's back today :j) but I find it so odd that my brain thinks the solution is to buy toiletries/make-up, especially as I have lovely things already. Using some PRCP items certainly helped the feeling pass but some UUs would be pretty helpful too :rotfl:

Shockingly bad start to May. 6 ins this morning by 9am.. Though it was 2 of those AA sets on this months Marie Claire which is a mere £2.50 in tesco. So each in was under a quid...

Shall I warm the naughty step? I expect the usual suspects will have joined me by Sunday ;)

What's AA? I didn't get anywhere near the mag aisle this morning.

Welcome back Willowbee and smartcat04. :)

I've had several near purchasing incidents this week - I am very tempted to buy one of the variants of the new Garnier Ultimate Blends shampoo and I'm not sure how much longer I'll be able to hold out. I don't need any shampoo, but how do I know it wouldn't be my holy grail product........?!? :o

I used samples of Garnier Ultimate Blends Sleek Restorer Shampoo and conditioner a couple of days ago, my hair is quite fine and they weighed it down and made it a bit lank:(, I hadn't realised that Argan oil was involved:o, so that explains it. WNB

I have this one as well and am not madly keen on it. It smells really sweet and whilst my hair is very soft it's still frizzy.

I wish there was an aldi near me! I've just used up one of their sermons that I was really impressed with. I got it at xmas when I was back home for the holidays.

You did mean "serum" didn't you? Was thinking that Aldi had become evangelical. I know some folks round here would readily pray to them! :rotfl: (this post is meant tongue in cheek in case anyone feels offended by it).
    This is a bargain

Benefit porefessional is £24.50 for 22ml in boots

Elle magazine is £4 and has a free sample size which is 7.5ml so buy 3 of those for £12 and you have saved £12.50 and they are in a handy handbag size.

    It's the June edition

Another mag to look out for. Dearie me. x
Uu 7 sachets of l'occitane divine cream, I almost wish I hadn't tried this as I am completely in love with it but it's sooooooo expensive

    Happy pampering xo

That's why I always give these sachets to my friend at work who does use this.

Have caught up with you all now so will post my results for April:-

Only 10 OUTs but I think this is usual for me.
9 INS which were just for me : Philosophy Homemade Honey Buns shower gel and OPI TSV (7 items), L'occitane Lavender hand cream

These other items were INs for the family but were purchases nevertheless:-
L'Occitane foot cream, L'Occitane Eco-Refill Verbena hand wash
    Lush goodies for Emma

And I was gonna go cold turkey. Never mind!!

One UU so far this month : Philosophy Peppermint Bark shower gel. Lovely WDBA.

I'm sorry you have had to cut your hair off. I have long hair and would hate to loose it.
I use coconut oil as a leave in treatment but prefer to buy a can of coconut milk and boil it on a low heat for 15 minutes (stiring as it will catch if left) and then leave it to cool and then I use it as a hair mask overnight. My hair is so silky the next day.

Have you thought of the foam bendy stick things (sorry have no idea what they are called ) This is what I mean : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12-x-SOFT-BENDY-TWIST-HAIR-HAIRDRESSING-ROLLERS-CURLERS-EVA-FOAM-TWISTEE-BENDERS-/330869057549?pt=UK_Health_Beauty_HairCare_Rollers_Curlers&var=&hash=item4d0955280d. I bought some from Primark but you can pick them up in a pound shop and the results are good for heatless curls but you do have to leave them in a long time though.

I have a sense of deja vu. I bought it this morning.

    IN's
    2 X Granny takes a bath ballisitc
1 X badger ballistic (can't remember the real name), I though coming out of Lush with only 3 things was quite good for me)
2 X Charles Worthington hair heal leave- in conditioner
Charles Worthington Intense resue melting balm.
Oilatum scalp treatment shampoo (this was reduced and I still have problems with my scalp itching, so I thought I would try it)
