Thats waaay better than the Quad although IMO the location is worse, thanks for updating0 -
that is a result for £120 more.
at check-in if they say that the room is near a lift and ask if that's OK say "no thank you"...we thought they were telling us this as it might be a bit of a higher-traffic area and said it would be fine...we didn't expect a goods lift running right behind the bed...it was so loud and the water in the toilet rippled every time the lift ran by...they moved us the next day after we complained.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
PH is a better hotel in every respect. The baths are really deep and some of the best on the strip in a mid range hotel. There is minimal storage in the room for more than a couple of nights. However the beds, decoration, etc is far superior.
The pool area isn't a patch on the Flamingo though. It's a very plain rectangular pool and the surroundings are a bit bleugh.0 -

vs

I'd take them up on the Flamingo offer TBH0 -
My parents have booked into the Quad hotel in July through Virgin holidays, I am also booked in through a different provider. My provider has told me the pool is closed and that the hotel is getting a lot of work done while we are there. Virgin only told my parents that the pool is closed in winter months and it was only when I e-mailed them that I got any other info from them, basically saying they have looked into it and need more time to sort out the information they may get!!! My provider has offered me a new hotel (the Luxor) with only a £10 extra charge but Virgin? Nothing yet for my poor parents except an offer of using another pool (Paris or Flamingo)Parents don't use the pool but I have issues with work being carried out when they are there. Hope someone has some help.0

If you have read all of this thread you will now know that the Quad isnt the best .
having said that i would rather be in the Quad than at the Luxor.
If your parents wont be using the pool (even if they do Flamingo is a very short walk and a much better pool) I dont think there will be any issues, there is always work going on at hotels in Vegas, the whole of Vegas is constantly reinventing itself, they usually manage to do work with minimum disruption. If your parents were to be disrupted while in their room, i am sure they could move rooms if they requested0 -
Agree with photome. The Luxor may be a slightly better hotel, but a much worse location.
The rooms in the Quad aren't great compared to almost every other hotel in Vegas. However they are on a par with a 3* Spanish hotel if you can live with that. You won't spend much time in your room if it is your first visit. I think the Quad is the only hotel that doesn't have a safe in the room, but you can use one at the front desk.
Tell your parents to ask fro a quiet room at check in. The ones facing the pool should only be noisy during the day.0
