Pool Closure in Las Vegas Hotel
Comments

Are you sure you're not being charged the extra because the alternative is a better hotel? The Quad is a dive :eek:0
-
I did wonder if it might be the Quad as they are doing so much work around there at the mo and have just started renovating the rooms.
As others have said you are not missing much the quad pool is the pits, whereas the Flamingo is one of the best although is very busy and very loud.
I do understand your frustration as you thought you would have a pool where you are staying, I know i wouldnt want to go next door to another pool, having said that it isnt very far.
Maybe it was in the t and c when you booked but you just didnt see it.
Cant hurt to ask to be moved to Flamingo, it would be a much better place to stay0 -
OP did you see this on Virgin website when you booked and di you tick the box
Important Information
British citizens must obtain an ESTA in advance of travel from the UK for stays in the USA which currently costs $14. Please visit https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta for further information.
Please note: Wireless Internet access at The Quad Resort & Casino denotes a local charge.
Please note: The swimming pool at The Quad Resort & Casino will be closed until 30 September 2014.
Please note: We've been advised that due to the cold weather in Las Vegas during the winter months, the swimming pools at Las Vegas hotels are only open seasonally.
I confirm that I have read and understand this important information0 -
Hi the last reply the info was not there when we booked this is our point as you have to tick to agree to it , we can move but for extra money0
-
As has been said, the reason you would have to pay more to move is because the Quad is the cheapest hotel on the strip so any other hotel would be more expensive.0

Do you mean the important info wasnt there?
I thought it was there for all hotels
Or just that the pool closure info wasnt there.
If the important info was there I doubt Virgin will move you for free, if it wasnt there then I think yoo could maybe push them for a discount on moving cost
IMO it would be worth paying a couple of hundred extra to move anyway.
If you have never been to Vegas, you wont get a great first impression by staying at the Quad0 -
It will take you 5 minutes to walk from the Quad to the Flamingo. We are staying at the MGM next week and the walk from the room to the pool is 15 minutes.0

The info was not there but we have no way of proving it0

If Virgin wont move you for free, you should not let it spoil your holiday.
There are many people posting on here who post on the Vegas sticky thread and visit Vegas regularly and all will help you make the most of whatever you decide to do.
As you now realise the Flamingo pool is way better and not very far to walk so it shouldnt spoil your hols0 -

exactly. For this combination it's not really an issue and the pool is much nicer than the one at the home hotel...you can go out the side exit of The Quad now (through O'Shea's) and walk maybe 10 or 15 steps across 'the Linq' and be inside Flamingo too...it's not even like you have to schlep along the strip in your swimming gear or anything.
OP - The Quad is generally considered a budget hotel and there are not really many others on the strip - certainly not central strip...I don't know what you're being offered for £300-£400 more to know if it might be worth it in terms of the property itself...but if you're not wanting to spend more on the hotel (which I can understand) this pool situation is not that dire.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
