Pool Closure in Las Vegas Hotel

advice needed please we booked a holiday to Las Vegas in December for May 2014 we have recently found out that the pool is closed at the hotel we are staying at, we contacted virgin holidays and they said at time of booking we knew the pool was closed and tick to accept this, we know we didn't do this but they say our only option is to pay £300-£400 to change hotel but can use pool in another hotel.
Any suggestions on what to do as we would not have agreed to a hotel with pool closed in a place near the dessert , due to travel on 25th May
Thanks in advance Sharon

where is the other pool you can use?0

Which hotel are you staying at and which pool do they say you can use? Quite surprised any hotel's pool is closed at that time of the year.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0

It could be one that is having reverbs at the hotel.
Like ferf says, I don't know of one pool in Vegas that would be shut at the end of May.The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
Need to know the name of the hotel before being able to make any useful comment.0

what's even stranger is that's a bank holiday weekend in the US...so even odder (is that a word?) that the pool is closed.
OP - the reason we're asking where you are staying and which pool you can use is to evaluate how much of a pain it would be...and also to make sure there is some sort of agreement in place that you can use the alternate pool as in most cases it's not free to use another property's pool - in some cases guests only can use them, others there is a fee to go in.
We've stayed at Bally's when their pool was closed for the season but could use Paris - we didn't, but it would not have been an awful alternative if we wanted to have some pool time...there are other combinations that might not be too bad as well but without knowing what the details are it is impossible to evaluate.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
OP how did you find out it is closed? Virgin has a disclaimer that pools are open seasonally but they should all be open by May, unless of course there is a refurb but I dont recall reading about any.
As others have said which hotel is it, it may not be a problem0 -
Fuss about nothing here.
They told you the pool was closed, you ignored it and now they`ve offered a pool at a nearby hotel.
All Virgins fault?
Get your towel and trunks and walk around the corner!0 -
2010...have you been to Vegas? I'm not commenting on the issue of notification by VH as I have no info on that...but depending on the hotels involved it could be quite a bit more than walking around the corner....even with hotels next to each other.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0

Yes I`ve been to Las Vegas.
Every hotel`s got a pool except the one the OP is going to, they also have casinos.
Just go to the next hotel and use their facilities.
VH have made arrangements for the use of an alternative pool.
There`s really not much else Sharon can do.0
