Well if this lady works with extremely disabled children, and she can't sleep because of her child losing some teeth, she really needs to take a look at the parents of the children she works with and think how they cope with things that are worth worrying about!
I also work with disabled children 2 days a week and I am thankful everyday that my own are healthy and able bodied. If one of my children fell and lost a few teeth I would be thankful it was a few teeth and not a limb or worse!
Teeth grow back. Children that age don't pick on others because they have lost a tooth. They actually think it's great and can't wait till they lose some for the tooth fairy to visit.

My son had to have 6 teeth removed due to a problem with his gums, and still does have problems. It's no-ones fault and it's just a condition he was born with. He had to go under GA to have them removed, there was no other choice in the matter as they won't remove that amount of them under local anesthetic anymore. I wouldn't want my child to have a local anesthetic either. Its painful enough getting that needle, I've had it myself for my teeth and for 2 operations and I didn't like it.

Anyhow no I didn't get the champagne out when he got his teeth out, but yes, he was fine, he found it funny to eat solids at first but after a day or two he was fine. He thought it was great getting a couple of days off school and getting to eat certain foods like jelly etc He got that extra bit more attention for being a brave boy and got a new book and toy for a treat for being so brave
I didn't worry as I knew he was safe, healthy and ok. I had nothing to feel guilty about and I was thankful that it's only his teeth we have to concentrate on and not a medical condition or disability. He is a happy healthy able bodied child and I thank God everyday for that. I also think about those children who are disabled, sick, in hospital etc and their parents and what they have to deal with on a daily basis.
Losing a few teeth is nothing and definitely not worth losing sleep over.

Not everybody does the tooth fairy. ;)

I'd be pretty gutted if my daughter had an accident like the one described in the OP. No, it's not the end of the world but that motherly guilt would doubtless kick in and I'd be somewhat bothered about it for quite some time I expect. Presumably adult teeth don't come down early when baby teeth have been lost in this way, so it will most likely be more than another 3 years before that gap gets filled up. On the upside the adult teeth might come through more easily as they'll have clear space to come in.

I'm 36 and still have some baby teeth. Hence I don't tend to think of them as temporary!
