The burger maker has been a sound investment. I loathe making that sort of thing where I have to handle flour etc but now quite happily make HM burgers. Dead simple to use, no parts to go wrong and easy to take apart and wash up. All boxes ticked!

Nooo....don't make me go on their website!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I love their craft stuff, it's so cool and I'd be lost without the fizz keeper (or just drinking neat gin!:D ) My worst buy was a julienne vegetable cutter - difficult to use and very good at julienning your fingers.
My potato ricer was £5 from Ikea and its great and very heavy duty, although OH does joke that the spuds look like ant larvae afterwards...
juliapenguin do you have a recipe for Spätzle noodles you could post please? I love them and have never been able to find them over here! edit: opps, didn't see the previous requests! cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
My best, best buy was probably the no faff clingfilm dispenser, I use it regularly and never have a problem, no I take it back my best best buy is the expanding spice shelf that goes in the cupboard, absolutely brilliant, no more having to move loads of jars around to find the one you want!
My other best buys are the tin foil, the circulon casserole pans (both sizes), vegetable brush, step/stool, freezer bags, some nice plastic outdoor glasses, budrum ginger nibbles, stack-a-boxes, vegetable rack, add a shelf, expanding cutlery tray, picked onion scoop thing, mango slicer, bin fresh orange scent stickly thing, cooking candles (brilliant things, worth the money, curry smells no longer linger for days!), I've got a storage stool last week but haven't put it together yet so don't know how good it is. I've also only just got some pads to stick to furniture feet and sticky paws to stop the cat scratching the furniture so haven't yet had time to fully test them yet. I'm sure I've got more stuff from Lakeland but can't think of any more offhand.
Got my eye on the good grips mandolin slicer, very tempted but it's £50
I think I've got an problem, I'm addicted to Lakeland!
Worst buy was probably a women's institue cookbook, didn't fancy any of the recipes so gave the book away (I also have a cookbook addiction!) :rotfl:
ps forgot to say didn't get the ricer from them, got a good grips one from a farm shop and love using it0 -
My brother & SIL just gave me the Jelly Strainer Set
http://www.lakeland.co.uk/product.aspx/!3809_3810
which I'm very pleased with as I've never quite dared try to make jelly. I am sooo sad.0 -
This thread is WRONG!!!!
Mods please delete it before I go bankrupt!!!!
I wish everyone would stop tempting me with thoughts of all the loveliness in store at Lakeland.
The burger press is now calling to me..... The lock n lock boxes have my name on..... Even that daft banana slicer is whispering in my ear that I should at least have a look....
Thank goodness the store doesn't open on Sundays!!! :rotfl:
I held out for two weeks, but yesterday I gave in.... and I bought so much that I needed a TROLLEY!!!
I only went in for the burger press.....0 -
I know what you mean. I went in for freezer bags and bought the blue lightweight hoover. Its brilliant.:rotfl:The hoover and lakeland0

Hey Annie
maybe you could report back on what you think of the qualityHate and I do mean Hate my apple Mac Computer - wish I'd never bought the thing
Do little and often
Please stop using the word "of" when you actually mean "have" - it's damned annoying :mad:0 -
As a cleaner, my most fave thing from Lakeland is the spider hoover. I seem to spend half my time rescuing the darlings and putting them outside. I hate disturbing them and its quite comical to see them racing to get back in the door before I shut it.
I have a burger press thing bought from a charity shop for 50p - a different make though. Love Lakeland too.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

I've just ordered the burger press so I can start making my own veggie burgers... I also ordered some other things... enough to get free delivery

Not used it all yet, but briefly:
Sale item: first aid cabinet: reduced from £24.99 to £9.99 as discontinued. Had to email them as door fixings turned out to be faulty. As it's discontinued they replied instantly to say they were sorry, were posting a full refund and to keep the cabinet anyway. Disappointed about cabinet but will see if I can buy fixings at B & Q, and am amazed by prompt no-quibble customer service!!!
Sale item: ice-cream maker - reduced from £35.99 to £19.99 as box was damaged. Perfect working order. Works well. Really pleased!
Burger press £6.50. Not yet tried but seems sturdy enough.
Cling film and foil 99p trial packs. Cling film no dofferent from my usual so won't rush to buy the bigger (expensive packs) but fine for 99p. Foil v. strong, but I try to avoid using foil and cling film v often for eco-reasons, so will prob not replace either for ages anyway.....:p
Mini coir door mat Sale £1.99 - good quality
Compost Crock carbon filters £3.99 for 10 - To fit the Lakeland compost crock - a white ceramic pot that sits on the worktop looking pretty and storing peelings etc until the rain stops long enough to put it out on the compost heap....;) The filters last 3-4 months so although it seems ridiculous buying these little filters that look like I could make my own from a roll of cooker hood filter, I just can't be bothered. TBH The crock pot looks nice but a plastic bin would be more useful... but I've had it ages now and the filters do mean that I can leave veg/egg shells/teabags etc overnight (or for a few days...) before putting out to the compost bin without causing an icky smell
Looked at lock n lock boxes, but couldn't decide whether they were right size for what I 'needed', so hey ho, have left them there - a good reason to go back another day!!!
Looked at the banana holder and slicer and laughed a lot. :rotfl:0
