Lakeland green bags are fantastic, they saved my sanity again this christmas as I had no last minute shopping. The veg and fruit that I stored in them were in A1 condition after 3 weeks and the purple sprouting broccolli looks fresh and crunchy as it sits in a bag in my fridge.

I've had these from QVC (well the outlet shop at Warrington) and love them. They're brilliant if you're buying veg/salad for one or two rather than a big family.

However, I was delighted to find exactly the same thing in our local Poundland at (surprisingly) £1 for a bag of 10 - good big sizes too. Well worth a visit if you've got one nearby - I can assure you they are EXACTLY the same.

    hi folks
i have just been flicking through lakelands new brochure and came across Seal-a Meal it costs £34.99

its a vacuum packer for food storage I have seen other models but they where much more expensive

it is something i have been thinking about for some time as i batch cook and freeze and i thought vacuum packing would take up far less room in my already bulging freezers

i would welcome thoughts of anyone that uses this or similar thank you in advance x x

I know these have been discussed on here before, but I just wondered if people who have them would recommend them (or a cheaper version) ? I am trying to use my dryer much less but hate having all the radiators ( which in any case aren't on much) draped with clothes.

Yes I have one from Lakeland and they are very good. I thoroughly recommend them
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

They are very sturdy - they fold flat then you open up either side and then you bring down the slats, you dont have to put both sides up.

    Has anyone tried these?

I so miss butter on my baked spud and thought they might fit the bill but as I don't have a Lakeland nearby the postage will make it a hefty investment of £8.24 so I'm wondering if they are worth it .....
Oh dear, here we go again.

Yes they are lovely, I used to buy them from lakeland too. I stocked up when I was last in the US at Walmart and they are significantly cheaper.

I use them on jacket spuds, pasta, allsorts really.

I really didn't like them - although the last time I tried them was 5+ years ago - so maybe they've improved...?

They tasted *mechanised* if you know what I mean (I realise they are processed!). I decided I'd rather have the real thing.

They are on my (quite lengthy) list of "Things I wish I hadn't bothered buying from Lakeland". Shame really - because there is also a "Things I really love about Lakeland" list :rotfl:

    Hi

I agree with Mags_cat and don't like Butter Buds either. From what I remember they taste nothing like butter. I think you'd be better-off using half-fat butter.
