I've just checked the Lakeland website and there are now 12 reviews for this and 11 of them have 5 stars..oh no...I can feel myself wavering!

I wish to declare a miracle. For the first time ever I went into Lakeland and bought NOTHING. I was rather upset actually, I went in there to get a bacon press (which they have discontinued) and to look at dehydrators which I could have SWORN they had on their website but I cannot now find! In fact, I can't find any in shops!

Thanks guys - worth considering! Being such a miser though I was rather hoping to get one cheaper or not have to pay P&P!!

Lizzieann - How much jam and marmalade do you make in a year? I checked the jam maker out on the Lakeland website and it certainly seems to get rave reviews and be very convenient, but as we make our jam and marmalade in the microwave (where I can also made a maximum of around 3 lbs a time without having to stir it), I'm trying to convince myself that I would probably have to make several tons of jam before this additional piece of equipment actually achieved its pay-back target. But I do suspect it probably is an amazingly convenient piece of equipment for anybody who wants to make "little and often" and just get on with other chores while it's cooking.
  • talking of lakeland....

i got my dad the veggie wedger last year as a joke present, (tho he loves it) and it developed a crack in the plastic, emailed them asking if i should send it to them to be checked and they said don't worry we'll send you a new one, which they've done!

I've never made jam or marmalade before! But I've always wanted to have a go and I've always imagined it to be a bit of a kerfuffle...so when i saw the jam maker I thought it would be great.

I've typed that small because I'm a bit ashamed to admit it! I would, however, fall into the 'little and often' category'. So what do you think?
