Just a word of warning after what happened this morning at Morrisons.I shopped instore, got my 6p off every litre coupon and went to fill up.I didn't get 30 litres exactly by choice,it just came to that when I finished filling up.So I knew exactly how much I was going to save before going in.
On leaving ,and before I got in the car, something made me check and to my surprise it had only taken off £1.30.Now hey,i know that was only 50p difference but it was the principal of it.
So I went back in and the chap who just served me was busy so I asked the one who was free why I had only been given £1.30 and not £1.80.I said surely the computerised till wasn't playing up? The other chap then looked across, and said they have a chart with all the prices on and how much 6p a litre off would come to!!!
That did shock me that it was having to be calculated and then input by the staff but I was more shocked that someone dealing with figures and transactions all day long needed a chart in the first place to know how much 6p a litre x 30 would come to!!
I got given the difference, and an apology but if that is happening across all Morrison's fuel stations how many times are the staff not getting it right,as I know many people will not bother to check, thinking the amount of discount given will be automatically taken off.

Works out at £3 per hour (less than NMW)Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -
So you don't think I am right in warning others that if that is the way the discount has to be worked out,it could happen again.?
50p may not be a lot to you,and I admit it isn't to me either but to some people who have spent £40 in store to get the voucher, it would be pointless if they then don't get the right discount applied.
I thought this was a money saving site.0 -

But equally if it mean he takes more care it would then have helped others after me.
I know everyone makes mistakes, but do you not think that someone who cannot multiply 30 by 6 should really be doing a job with money in the first place.??0 -

Thanks for posting- I will definitely double check my petrol receipt. I always check Morrisons food receipts as they always make mistakes but assumed petrol would be automatically correct.

would you like to come and be a fly on the wall in a maths lesson with my apprentices?

Morrions short changed me some points the other week (about 30p worth) I called their customer service line for free took about 2 minutes and ended up with a £2 voucher so about £60 an hour. was that worth it?0
