I did read all the advice given and did what I could to help my daughter like it said if she makes too much of an issue of this he could serve her with a notice to leave this is not an ideal situation but the best we can do at the present

So no one paid the bills for all that time?

Nobody paid the bills a bill was never sent to my daughter she thought as the LL said it was included in the rent the bills were being sent to him

Well, as explained before, the bills were clearly included.

Try reading the advice given (since you came here to ask for it), and then try sorting it a bit more forcefully.

Oh - small point: please try using some punctuation & paragraphs as your posts come over as an outpouring of half-thought-out ideas, which may explain the half-thought-out 'solution' you've achieved.

So they were in his name?

Isn't he lucky to have someone else pay his bills for the last year! :money:

My goodness. He has really fallen on his feet with your daughter. Surely when he received the first bill he would have twigged if it was a genuine mistake. To wait this long before deciding to mention it does not suggest he made a mistake. It suggests he has decided he can't/won't pay the bill and saw your daughter as an easy target. Wasn't he right!

There is nothing in her contract it was the landlord who said it was included and is now saying he made a mistake and got her flat confused with another one so no she has nothing in writing just a text

What did the text say? Does it state he made the mistake?

Seems like her other option was to tell EDF that she was registering as a new customer with them and pay the bills going forward. That would leave EDF chase the landlord for the outstanding amount.

Whether that would prompt the landlord to get rid of tenant is debatable, as he would now have a tenant paying the bills going forward, so no reason to change tenant.
