I've tried all this weed suppressing membrane etc. Ended up with weeds growing on top of it :eek::eek:

If you are planning on planting anything I would not bother with chippings, you still have to dig and you end up replacing them every year.

If you are not planning on planting anything why not get a ground cover plant? A nice heather or the suchlike will soon cover the ground and will suppress the weeds more effectively after a while. It would probably take a fair few but it would be worth it as they look lovely too.

Of course, there might be someone on here that has had more luck with chippings than we have :eek:

I used to use castor sugar in making wine (only used wine kits, hope to do some BlackBerrying later this year tho) and it was such a faff getting it dissolved - now I've discovered how much easier brewing sugar is I always use that (it seems to speed up initial fermentation as well). But it's more expensive, even in wilkos (£2 but currently 25% off )

Thank you - might have to pick some of that up, expensive but probably well worth it OH is planning on making some tea wine soon, his tea wine is absolutely gorgeous

Taking DS2 back to uni today, together with homemeade flapjacks, and carrot soup.

We've discussed the difficulties getting GP appointments on the thread a few times, and the questions etc included.

I had an appointment yesterday, a new term cropped up, the receptionist advising me that my appointment was with a physician associate. Googled the term, interesting!
