Just wondered has anyone put a fence up on the side that is actually the neighbours side?
We have a knee height fence at the moment which gives us full view of the neighbours - so we have no privacy. So we keep considering putting up a full height normal sized fence but fixed on our side if you know what I mean?
is it legal?
Yes but I wouldn't mention to them first ( once you are fully aware of your rights). Do you have children/ grandchildren you could use as an excuse as to why you need a higher fence? You are concern about their safety etcPan drawers in 2016 £1500 needed.0 -
Morning all.
Went to bed last night feeling really yucky and not feeling to great this morning so back off for a nap in a bitIt was not a good time nerfy, quite a few of our friends handed their keys in.We didn't we stayed with it and luckily for us it turned out ok.
I remember being at home when it was that so called black Wednesday in 1992 and watching on tv while the interest rates went up to something like 15% and thinking this is it we are going to have to hand in our keys as well.
We lost my MIL the next year and OH inherited just enough to pay off our negative equity so we sold while house prices were low. When we had initially bought the flat prices had been going up £1000 a week which was a lot then.
I sold a 2 bed house beginning of 1988 for £36,000 and by July that year a 1 bed flat cost us £53,000. Which in proportion then was a huge jump. Seems an awful long time ago now. :rotfl:
I've heard about rates hitting 15% but I was only young back then so don't remember anything about it. I do remember the early 90s not being much fun as my Dad lost his job. I agree, negative equity isn't a nice dark cloud to have hanging over you
I don't kid myself that anytime soon they could sky rocket (I think the rate when we first got a mortgage on this place was 6.9% SVR and it's currently about 2%).
When the housing market crashed a few years ago my Sister handed their keys back on their 2 bed flat (I think they'd bought it a year previous).
:T glad things turned out OK, it's things like this that make us who we are :THistoric Debt August 2009 = £63,600 10th March 2017 = £0 100% paid all gone!
Mortgage started June 2015 = £170,000 January 2022 = £134,000
Saving for Xmas 2022= . . Amazon £55
