I'm looking at Haven sites, (first time sun holiday booker so loads of questions) In general do you know if you are able to buy entertainment passes from the park direct if you don't book them with the Holiday ? If so are they more expensive than booking with the Sun ?
We've been too a few Haven sites and they have always asked for passes.

We went to Butlins Minehead last year and were only ever asked to show our room key to get onto the site.

The passes are added to your booking by default, but you don't need to pay until the invoice comes from the site.

You can take the passes off, but if you realise you need them it will cost much more at a later date. Haven Devon Cliffs charge £31 per adult peak for 3 or 4 nights, or just £12 through the Sun.

In most under 5yr olds the entertainment passes are free too, though Butlins it's under 2 years olds.

More questions for you seasoned holiday bookers :)

If I am booking a popular park on a popular date - will the selection of caravan (e.g. basic, luxury) possibly skew this ?

So -if the site is available, but not the type of caravan will it default to the next park/date on the list ? I'd rather have a standard caravan at the park I want than an upgrade at my second choice :D

Just wondering if I could throw my chances of getting the park I want by requesting (or even not requesting) an upgrade ? I've looked on the Haven site for my fave park, and luxury caravans are already shown as sold out on the date I have picked first.... so is it even worth trying to ask for an upgrade ?

Am I just overthinking things now ?!?!?
  • i'm actually ready for my bed after all this today. Hope they open soon.
