Is this an ebay purchase? If so, you don't need to wait for the seller to give you their number - you can request it from ebay.
Ultimately the seller needs to refund and claim from Royal Mail. Worst case scenario is that you take the seller to court (as you can prove you didn't sign for it) then the seller will have to take RM to court.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
I don't quite understand your post.
How did you know that the dress had been delivered today if it was not there when you got home? how did you know your signature had been forged?
To be honest having a receipt for petrol doesn't prove anything, it could have been someone else's receipt.0 -

The seller does not have to refund if there is a signature. Im not saying that I don't believe the OP but as a regular seller on Ebay I would not be refunding if someone got in touch with me and told me that it was not them that actually signed. How would I know they were telling the truth? If it were that easy then there would be hundreds of scammers on Ebay disputing that they had signed. Its also likely if it was expensive that the dress was not covered by signed for and would have been better sent Special Delivery.0 -

I was expecting the dress today, as I paid for it to be delivered today!
When I used the tracking number to see where about its was (parcelforce allow you to do this.) it said that the dress had arrived and had been signed for. I presumed that my neighbor had got it. ( for the record they hadnt)
E-sign means that you can view the signature that was used to sign for something electronically. Im presuming you have never signed that little electric screen thing for a parcel or you would have know that.
Also I think it would be very hard to say it wasnt me filling up my car using my bank card 20 miles away as I said before.
I hope that makes it easier for you to understand?

it is an expensive dress, which it was sent by parcelforce 24 signed for to make sure that it received a signature I also made sure the service selected for this item was covered for the total cost of the dress, this is why im so angry!!!0 -

I am aware of the electronic signatures being an ex postie! From what you say then if you were expecting the delivery today you must have paid for 'Next Day delivery'.
What I don't understand is why you would pay and arrange for next day delivery when you were going to be at work and would not be in to receive the dress.0 -

Not true. Ebay's own silly rules do not override the law! Parcelforce have already admitted the driver left it unattended in an unsecured location, so the seller will be able to make a claim with them in the same way as if the item was lost with no signature. If the seller can claim for the missing item, then why on earth would they not do the right thing and refund the purchaser?0 -

Which actual law are you quoting?
In an ideal world they should refund but can you imagine if that happens every time. Thousands of sellers sending parcels which get signed for and all it would take is for the buyer to say 'I didn't sign, it may be my name but it wasn't me' and the sellers would have to refund. That's never going to happen in reality.
In this case Parcelforce are well out of order but imagine you had sold something, obtained a signature in your buyers name, then someone you don't know from Adam gets in touch and says they don't have the item in spite of you having a signature. Are you going to say 'oh Dear, never mind, here's a refund'. Of course you are not.
Parcelforce have told the OP that the driver signed, bet its a different story if the sender tries to claim.0 -

I paid for parcelforce next day, and my regular parcelforce driver has the good sense to either obtain a signature from a neighbor or leave a card telling me my item is at the post office down the road waiting my collection.
weather I was in or out is irrelevant the fact that I am at work shouldnt mean that I am not entitled to receive the service I paid for. or excuse the lazy driver who thought sod it i cant be bothered to deal with this so I will leave it here and fake a signature!
As a postman would you have every left a signed for item marked fragile wedding dress quite clearly on it just laying around?, also for the record this is a wedding dress and too large and heavy to have been sent special delivery!0
