Flats are certainly sticking in the North East in fact all houses are sticking. I think people generally are unrealistic about what they are asking for their properties. One house in our village was sold £60000 above what the last house went for on the same estate in October. However, buyers dropped out when valuer wouldn't value it at that price so they couldn't get a mortgage.
Is it traditional for house sales to slow anyway in the summer while people go on holiday? In fact, in your experience guys, what is the best time to sell?
Nothing has sold in my village for at least 6 weeks and that is all types of houses and flats.0 -
I'm in South Cheshire and there seems to be a bit of action at the moment (pre-HIPS, though, so when those sales go through, it will be fairly stagnant. Not unusual for houses to be on the market for close on a year. The only real increase has been in one street! (2 bed semi-det).0

As a few of you will know, my OH is in New Homes sales and her developement has been selling very well. (Flats IRO £180k) till the last month.
Out of 18 she has only 4 left and although it is usual for the last ones to take a while to move, the phone calls have all but dried up and the viewings have virtually ceased.
She was selling one per week on average but she reckons that'll drop to at least one per Month, now.
