I got up and went, I had a terrible night's sleep and if I had taken my time getting ready I never would have run. Annoyingly I forgot my water too, but sill did it! 6.5 miles dunzo.

None for me since the 7.5miles on Tuesday. Best effort 5k on Tuesday, looking for Sub-23mins.

I can't do that far on an empty stomach but that's just me. Maybe half a banana just so you have something inside you?

If you've eaten well the previous day you wouldn't need food for a run of that length the next morning. Any thoughts otherwise are basically all in your head.

Thanks! Got short runs this week, working up to 8.5 miles next weekend. Getting there!

SNOW!! not having a gym membership how do I train safely when the weather is not so great? Some of the pavements are clearing, so I hope I can get out tomorrow AM, but am I better to run on the road where there might be less ice?

When it's snowed, I prefer to run on trails and footpaths where there'll still be snow. It's less slippery than the pavements and it hurts less if you do fall over because you won't be landing on concrete.

Going back to the food discussion a moment, I prefer to run on empty or near-empty for anything under about half-marathon distance. I make up for it when I get in though :) Tonight, since getting back, I've had a pita and hummus, a bowl of spicy chickpea soup, a bowl of veg casserole and a bowl of porridge! Still wondering if a bit of toast and jam might be in order, too.

I actually like running on snow. It only becomes an issue if it gets trampled down and becomes icy and then the yaktraxs come out to play.

well the snow issue was very short lived. Went out this AM and did 4.5 miles. I feel totally happy with that as my general run length now. Working up to do 8.5 miles next Sunday!

getting faster! A minute off my 4.5 mile time this morning, trying to mentally prepare myself for the weekend's 8.5 mile run. Physically I'm sure I can manage, but my brain is my own worst enemy.
