On the plus side, local ParkRun was 22mins odd for 5km (3.1miles).0

Oh dear! I went for a run this morning and have recently moved. So, most of my current have also been a case of exploring and finding new routes. I had a right panic this morning thinking I was lost. I had in fact, just kept going around in circles...Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Hi guys, I'm a bit new to this but would love to get involved in this thread as I love running (lol don't know if you can tell by my username
haha) - i love doing park runs, i think they're great and really want to do one in Iceland (has anyone done that one?!). I was just wondering if anyone does anything else similar? I moved to London about a year ago and am yet to find any running groups that run in the week? I go out by myself on my lunch break but wondered if there was any post work communities I was missing out on?
Really trying to up my training before the next biggie, and with work its proving tough!:j“You cannot propel yourself forward by patting yourself on the back.”:j0 -

If you're anywhere near a Sweatshop, they do a Sweatshop Running Community twice a week and you should eb able to find a local running club near you.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

There are loads of running clubs in London. Whereabouts are you?0

Just thought I would say hi to this thread. I have my first Marathon on the 12th April in Paris. Eeeek! On the tapering stage now and I am so tired I just want it over with
Looking to keep the motivation up after it though so hoping to stay doing regular half marathons.0 -
How exciting. I'm doing a half in May for which I am woefully under-trained. Lots of 5-7k runs but somehow I haven't managed to do more than 11k yet so I'm going to try to cram in 3 longer runs in the next month and hope that being 'fully rested' will get me round!0

Good luck!
I've ran Paris before. I really like the course, and rate that as one of the best big city marathons I've ran. It's hard to beat the Champs Elysees for a start line.0 -

Thank you! RAce is on Sunday and I am scaredI think it's the nerves of the unknown. I've had a week of not doing much (tapering was more of a 'I'm finished now
) and I'm tired. Trying to get some good rest today (boss is off
) as we are up at 4am for the train to Paris and busy day getting race pack etc. Plus my partner is coming along with me who isn't very mobile due to an injury a few months ago so I have to help him along and try to figure out a good spot he will be able to access to watch the race and wait for me.
I'm actually quite upset about the race if I'm honest as I signed up due to my partner wanting to run a marathon. We both entered Paris marathon and got all excited and then he had his accident earlier this year when we were on holiday so he's only just able to walk (VERY slowly and still with two crutches!). I tried to drop out because I wanted him to do it with me but he refused saying I had to continue. So it's a bit of a bittersweet situation.0 -
How did you do, Flosswoss21?0
