The following month am planning to 'upcycle' (lah-de-dah, get me) our bedroom sets of drawers. Were ALL donated to me/us over the years from assorted friends and family and are very orange pine, some with handles missing. Perfectly usable, but not very pretty so will get outside with some sandpaper and some paint and see if I can make it [STRIKE]look worse[/STRIKE] worthy of a show home![/QUOTE]
That is Very MSE! And it made me chuckle! :rotfl:Debt Free I FFEF I Building Savings I 2025 Plan:- Regular Savings £8,200/£10,000

I have delusions of grandeur when it comes to my artistic ability. I know what I want it to look like and am perfectly clear on how long it will take....
For example my 50 metres of homemade wedding bunting... An afternoon's work and straight out of a Laura Ashley (if Laura Ashley did football and Doctor Who bunting) catalogue... OR... Every evening for a fortnight and it looks like it was dragged around the garden by a dog (not too bad from a distance). :rotfl:Debt 2008 - Approx £20k | April 2014 £6526 | 30 October 2015 DEBT FREE

haha love it! I'm the same at the moment. I have spent the last three evening glueing tiny gems to cardboard to save from spending the £15 or so it would cost to buy a 'mr & mrs' sign et al
To be fair I think it looks pretty darn good...but it is still just cardboard so also needs to be admired from a distance for the best effect!Debt Free I FFEF I Building Savings I 2025 Plan:- Regular Savings £8,200/£10,000

t2rry, have you discovered 'washi tape', it's fancy patterned and/or coloured masking tape? I did all my table decs with it around old jars. You can fit it in with your colour scheme really easily. I think I did 70 jars which had tea lights in and it cost me about £5 (plus the tea lights) and grouped them on the tables!Debt 2008 - Approx £20k | April 2014 £6526 | 30 October 2015 DEBT FREE

I have seen Washi tape on craft sites and so on but didn't really understand what it was for or how it could be used....I might have to Pinterest that to see how it would look
Thanks for the tip!Debt Free I FFEF I Building Savings I 2025 Plan:- Regular Savings £8,200/£10,000

Well, we're better off by £18 a month, Yay!
Husband has changed our home insurance for £6 a month less which we've paid in one hit to avoid paying extra for instalments.
I've been on to SW Water and changed our payment plan as we were in steadily rising credit, so that's £12 a month less too. I will be keeping an eye on this after 6 months to check it's not too much of a reduction, leaving us in the red.
Would LOVE to be able to 'shop around' for water suppliers like you can for gas and electricity as SW Water are, so I've heard, one of the most expensive in the country.Debt 2008 - Approx £20k | April 2014 £6526 | 30 October 2015 DEBT FREE
