Take them back for a refund

I'm the same. Bought a 'kit', just add water. Hopefully even I can't mess that up (fingers crossed).Debt 2008 - Approx £20k | April 2014 £6526 | 30 October 2015 DEBT FREE

Wow. These are MUCH harder/ rarer than I thought. It's halfway through the month and I'm not halfway through my challenge.
This has been a real eye opener for me, little (big) miss (mrs) smug who hardly spends anything after the payday flurry. Self-deluded or what???
About a week ago I was thinking "yes, but, they are only little spends most days, under a fiver". There's another one of those BUTs.
If, for example 15 days of the month I spend an average of £2... milk, bag of salad, can of pop, stamp, packet of crisps, birthday card... that's £30 a month, (quickly does maths) £360 a year!!! Just frittered, unplanned and relatively unnoticed. I might log on the spreadsheet that I took £10 cash out for eg ebay postage, which may have only cost £3 but where does the rest go???
I'm starting to think of it a bit like (my) eating, sometimes I don't even register that I've eaten. It hasn't been unknown for me to have tea at work because I'm working late and then have 'forgotten' and have another meal when I get home.
Of course there's always the possibility I've killed off all my short term memory cells with gin!Debt 2008 - Approx £20k | April 2014 £6526 | 30 October 2015 DEBT FREE

Well, the husband turns the big 40 in October and I'm saving for a 'big' present for him (I know this is £££ that could go to debt and I'm ok with this. I have a budget, I have planned for it and I want to get it for him).
Thanks to MSE I'm now aware of cashback sites and have been doing a bit of preliminary research. In getting him a DSLR camera in a certain way I can:- Claim cashback through Quidco
- Claim cashback through Nikon's summer offer
- Receive hefty clubcard points by paying for it on my CC (immediately putting the money back on the card with what I've put away).

Today WILL BE a NSD.
So far free activities with husband's little girl while he had a lie in have been:
Discussing bogey colours.
Decided if pirates visited in the night.
Drum kit out of almost everything in the kitchen.
Being told about tenses and fractions.
All not costing a penny.
Husband is just about to take her to the library. Free. Then we're off to help his dad water his allotment (I forgot to water my chillies before I left work yesterday, ooohhh). Free. Then beach. Free.
I'm not even going to take my purse out with me.
Have a fab DFW day all. Hope the (free) sunshine is as abundant where you are.Debt 2008 - Approx £20k | April 2014 £6526 | 30 October 2015 DEBT FREE

It is a NSD, am calling it. Halfway to my target. Hopefully tomorrow will add to the total too.
Just joined YouGov in a money raising exercise. All very easy except didn't realise by entitling a prize draw I used up my just earned first 100 points. Humph. Of course I will retract the 'humph' if I do win £5000, but not holding my breath.
Right, off to continue my temporary support of Hull.Debt 2008 - Approx £20k | April 2014 £6526 | 30 October 2015 DEBT FREE

I am sure that the drum kit was a huge asset to the lie-in :rotfl:0 -

Just caught up on your diary and I agree we are very similar!
I was a spreadsheet freak but now I am converted to YNAB (you need a budget) I think you would really like it and there is a 34 day free trail too. I got it for £29.41 using a link for 20% off - if I find it I will share it!2024 Challenges- Grocery Budget (January £0/£300)
