Halifax misleading 24/7 availability is fraud

It's not just the extra paper. What about the person who has to redraw the letterhead? He might have had a holiday booked that he now has to cancel because of the extra work. His wife might get mad at him. Perhaps she was already unhappy in their marriage and this is the straw that breaks the camel's back. They might get divorced.
Then there's the extra wear and tear on the printers, and the increased workload for the IT technicians. I just don't think you considered these people when you went chasing that £40 did you?
No I was thinking about the thousands of pounds that Halifax were making at the publics expense.I was thinking about so many people being mislead that I forgot about the poor printer guy.
Maybe his wife works for the Halifax and understands:-)0 -

Nah, she works at BT and she is about to be laid off because they aren't making any money from people calling Halifax on a Bank Holiday, thanks to you.0 -

Tell her to go and work for First Direct..they are open on a bank holiday and are a good employer:-)

BT have never made anyone compulsorily redundant. If she doesn't want to take redundancy, she'll be re-deployed elsewhere in the company.0 -

Just wondered if anyone had taken them to task for it.My complaint has been escalated and will be getting a manager ringing within two working days.Ive encouraged them to approach the Financial Obudsman as it's fraud. Will see what the manager sayes.
They acknowledged the complaint and distress caused so I'm off to a good start:-)
Are you having a laugh?
Its people like you who have taken all the fun out of living.0 -
...would just like to add that I lost my Halifax credit card last weekend and was able to call them and cancel at 11pm on the bank holiday.
Perhaps it's just a 24/7 service for customers who actually need to speak urgently and have a genuine need for 24/7 phone lines.0 -
Got my £40 cheque today.Must say Halifax have been very quick in dealing with my 2 complaints.Well done Halifax for listening to your custumers:-):j0

I went to McDonalds yesterday at 1029 am for a sausage and egg McMuffin and they said breakfast had finished ! It clearly says breakfast is served till 1030 am, I'm off to the nearest police station to report this matter..........;)As of 24th August 2016 total money owed was
£15,708 :eek:0 -
Maybe it's cheaper to pay nominal compensation to frivolous would be litigants than to fight themnumbersix06 wrote: »Got my £40 cheque today.Must say Halifax have been very quick in dealing with my 2 complaints.Well done Halifax for listening to your custumers:-):j0 -
Not read the whole thread because most people seem to be saying the same thing....
What Halifax has done is irritating, annoying, possibly misleading and most of all, typical of all banks and most large institutions, and as much as I hate them, all I can say is, it certainly ISIN'T fraud.
Good luck on your £40 win but that hasn't proved a lot. I got a £10 voucher from McDonalds recently because they served me a sausage and egg mcmuffin instead of a bacon and egg one and I complaint, but they hadn't defrauded me.
As another poster said.....move on.0
