Halifax misleading 24/7 availability is fraud

the automated service is 24/7 that is the number that is on the letter, that is why it asked you to put in your credit card details.
bank account servicing and lost and stolen are 24/7, you called about a late payment if it was late on the monday it would've been late on the tuesday. the charge is the same no matter how late it was. you could've waited.0 -
I think this is a wind up:
1) Surely the poster would not be this silly
2) Surely the Halifax would not be this silly0 -
Been some entertaining threads over Easter :rotfl:
Wrong again, PPI is not illegal, nor is it fraud or a criminal offence.numbersix06 wrote: »What would you say PPI is?Id say both wouldn't you?0 -
I think it's a wind up too. Notice the irony - a person complaining due to a bank being closed on a bank holiday.
The spelling and grammar mistakes are also a good touch to make it sound more authentic.
Finally, for a bank to give the OP £40? That just tops it off.
Then again...0 -
As I've said First Direct are a bank too...try and think why I've mentioned First Direct..at least have a guess!!!
The distress is over a late payment caused by Halifax's error and inconvenience of having to spend nearly an hour on the phone getting it sorted out.
24/7 means exactly that..if they can't be there 24/7 then just say.The wording is getting changed anyway which was my main complaint.
Yes Martin hopefully would be pleased:-)0 -
They'll now have to add an extra line to their letterhead to explain they are open 24/7, except Bank Holidays.
In some cases, this slightly larger letterhead may mean a letter goes over on to an additional page.
Over the course of a year, this could result in thousands of extra pieces of paper being used.
Well done, you've just potentially cost Halifax (and hence all of us taxpayers who part own Lloyds Banking Group) thousands of pounds.0 -

Except he hasn't really, because the chance of Halifax actually changing anything as a result of this one complaint is precisely nil.
Mr Manager and his "yeah we'll get right on that and get the stationary changed" is actually thinking "is this guy an idiot or a wind-up merchant? I hope he goes away with this bung i'm offering before my head explodes with the stupid factor" before promptly filing the case in the bin once the phone's down.0 -

Oh believe me there's plenty of room on the statement to mention it.Have you thought about the thousands of pounds I'll be saving the taxpayer in not ringing because they will see that it's closed.
Thousands of extra paper being used lol and I'm the one that is being silly supposedly. At least this post has got a good discussion going:rotfl::rotfl:0 -

It's not just the extra paper. What about the person who has to redraw the letterhead? He might have had a holiday booked that he now has to cancel because of the extra work. His wife might get mad at him. Perhaps she was already unhappy in their marriage and this is the straw that breaks the camel's back. They might get divorced.
Then there's the extra wear and tear on the printers, and the increased workload for the IT technicians. I just don't think you considered these people when you went chasing that £40 did you?0 -
The April statement doesn't mention it at all so I have a feeling someone else has complained before me but that doesn't excuse the March statement saying they would be there 24/7.
I'm enjoying this thread too and the amount of people that can't read lol
I do admit I went over the top with the fraud thing as Matt kindly pointed out but still feel strongly that if it Sayes 24/7 as in speaking to an advisor then that's what it should be!!!
Thanks for the entertaining comments:-)0
