  • wow everyone is losing the weight!! Well done all. I am still being mega good and feeling quite virtuous. I cannot do the humane thing I'm afraid as I would get the heeby jeebies with a live mouse  . I keep getting told it's our wee rabbit thats attracting the mice and that it'll be rats next. Thats when I move :rotfl: . I'm hardly sleeping as I keep imagining wee feet across me. Psycho me :p .

Right have sat and done my budget tonight and I have managed to budget for everything and have £100 for miscellaneous and I think I have remembered everything. I even checked my birthday book to see who I need to buy for. Organised or what?

I need to buy a power adaptor for my laptop as it keeps cutting out and it is driving me batty. Have e-mailed the company to se where I can buy the part as the last time I bought it locally and it has never really fitted correctly. Want to make sure I get the right one this time.

Going to start my debt diary again tomorrow and try and tighten my belt a wee bit more and see what I can pay off this month.

Damn I just remebered I need £45 for DS's school trip. Oh well there goes half my misc money and the month hasn't even started :rotfl:

No car boots on locally this weekend so it's a no go :-(.

Aww, little ratties, my friend had a very cute one that used to ride around in her dressing gown sleeve...

You need to give bunny strict orders to stop inviting friends around.

  • Red there is nothing cute about rats  .
No more wee visitors and I have given the rabbit a good talking to and told her her mates just arent welcome here.;) .

    Pay day today :j :j .
Made a dent in the debt again. Paid off the small balance on my Barclaycard. Was £115 rather than the £90 I had in my sig. Never mind paid now. Paid £155 for car service:mad: . I hate how much my car costs me but I really really need it or I couldnt work. Paid about £150 off my M&S card. I dont need to pay my Halifax card this month as I changed the day I want to pay it so that meant I could concentrate on the ones I want to clear by Christmas so 1 down and 2 to go.
Dont know if anyone has tried the demotivator thingy that Martin has done but OMG!! I am working for 1 week and 1 day a year just to buy fizzy juice:eek: No way !!!. As soon as my stash is finished I am giving it up. I could have another weeks term time off work with my kids instead of drinking that. Water is free and it is delish here in Scotland.

Worked out I work for 3 weeks to buy snacks and lunches. I thought I had cut this right down as well but obviously not. So thats it we will be having packed lunches more or less every day and no carry outs at all unless it fits into my shopping budget.

So here goes for another month. Belt is tightened another notch and diet is going well so viva September !!

I know what you mean about the shopping MIT - I have just spent £35.00 and was really pleased with myself until I realised we dont actually have anything to eat! Good Intentions and all that though eh.

My daughter is only 4 dreading her reaching her teens. My OH pales any time she even mentions a boys name!

There was a great quote I read once and I cant for the life of me remember who said it but it was something like

"When I met my daughter's new boyfriend I told him if he ever hurt her in any way I would shoot him. For some reason he started to cry but I suppose thats 6 year olds for you!"

Good Luck with your dd x

I too did a big monthly shop this weekend - spent £109 too!!! Hopefully though, we can now just buy milk, bread and fresh fruit and veg for the rest of the month.

My cupboards, fridges and freezer are full to overflowing - if anyone complains about the lack of food this week, they will be shot at dawn!

  • didn't do too badly for the friday big shop. about £63 for two of us should last the month.
i get fruit and veg from market and now i only buy what i need for my meal plan. usually i just go mad - ah brocolli, ooh melon, wow look at that peach!
recently started being specific eg 10 mushrooms only.
saved myself a couple of quid that way and less thrown away too.
need OH to get with the program though. i have got him buying own brand in the supermarket (granted we have to go to a different tesco cos i suspect he doesn't want anyone we know seeing the value lemonade etc in the trolley).
but he's gone out to the cash machine this morning with scotch pancakes - even though we have a million options for breakfast. they would be a quid wasted and the packs are of 6 so i know he's going to snack on the ones leftover from breakfast.
  • Hi there

Am a bit of an eavesdropper on this site and I wandered your way. Once I read about your son getting the MRI scan I had to keep reading to see that he was OK. Glad to hear. Then, after finding that out, and the fact that you'd won £500, I felt I should at least finish the thread because, well because I'm NOSY really! Any road, well done for your approach to all your nonsense, not least that horror you work with. Just you remember it's karma, her time will come. Good luck

  • hi Fletch. Eavesdrop all you like. Nice when folks drop in and say hi. The horror at work has been sweetness and light this week and I didn't let bug that I knew what she had done. We were at a meeting the other day and our boss told us a few confidential things. She had the cheek to tell me when we went back to our desks to remember and not repeat!!! My jaw hit the floor and I told her that if I let out all the secrets I knew about the office that there would be a war. She still thinks I'm a wee lassie. I'm 42 for gawds sakes:mad: . Any how thats enough talk about the old boot :rotfl: .
I'm hoping the same Hypno but if I need to get a delivery mid month I won't be too upset. Really really going to try and stay within budget this month though. Meal planning will come into practice near the end of the month methinks.
I told DD she could meet the lad as long as there was a crowd of them there but her pals mum said no lol so at least I am not the big baddie any more.
Got a couple of Christmas pressies today. We have an outlet centre near us and I managed to get 2 handbags for half price. Thats part of my niece's and my pal sorted out. Got a half price fleece for my other niece too:D .
Penguin I was going to say to the lad 'touch my lass and I'll break your legs' lol .............too tough do you think??
Sometimes worries me being on my own with the kids. There's no-one to bat ideas off of. My mum chats to me about things but she is old school and although I am in no way going to allow them to run riot I want to cut them more slack than I got. Oh well I'm sure it'll be fine. Ok am off to watch you,me and dupree( freebie dvd from quidco sign up :o ).
