    Hi all,

I have been toying with the idea of changing banks, and it seems so much of a faff, and also a small (well, OK, large) sense of trepidation that something will get screwed up and a payment missed somewhere.
Well, yesterday I received a letter through the post saying that I'd get £200 for changing to h4lifax, as well as £5 per month. This has been more than the other banks have been offering...so cue a lot of looking at bank comparisons!! I have been with my present bank for over 20 years, maybe it's about time I joined the 21st century and started to get more control over my finances.

    Hope all are well

    xx

    Hi Diary,
So today is car No. 1 MOT day. Didn't start off too brilliantly as after starting, it decided to drop petrol all over the driveway, looks like the fuel pipe from the pump to the filter has corroded
So, off to the garage and they confirmed my diagnosis, so it's left with them to fix, MOT and let me know what the failures are (I should be more optimistic...but the car is 24 years old and there's always something to do - but I still love driving it)

After looking around their garage, I can honestly say that there are some right royal wrecks out there...good job I did my research when I bought mine 12 years ago :D

    And look....it's the weekend...wahoooooooo

Hope everyone is well and has a great weekend :)

    Hey :)

Totally understand re: the bank; I can't help but think my loyalty counts for something, but I know I'm deluding myself!

Boo to the car repairs. Do you mind me asking what it is (understand if you don't want to say). I used to have a Chevette, and when it corroded itself away, I wouldn't come out of my room for the rest of the day, I was too devastated....still love that car (sob).....lol

Hope you have a great weekend too x

    Hey Gib,

Great to hear from you, my classic is a Porsche 944S2. I purchased it 12 years ago, and have loved every year of owning it. Some years I have to wonder where my sanity is when I have a massive MOT/Service bill, but then I have a quick blast down an A road and realise it's all worth it.

    Hi diary,

After weeks of no offers coming up on CC transfers, right before the end of July, an offer came up for a 12 month deal at 0%, so my balance from CC 2 has now gone to CC1 for 12 months, am hoping to make a big hole in this before the end of the interest free period. The total went up slightly (taking into account the transfer fee) but better that than paying at least that amount in interest each month.

Other items for the month...DVD player has decided that it will start playing the crazy fool and not recognising DVD's, a tad frustrating when we are set to snuggle down and watch something from the DVD archive....looks like another one may be on the shopping list (but not before I have researched the interweb on ways to fix it!
Which reminds me, I have to do the OH's phone...the screen has cracked and needs replacing...researched and all parts obtained to fix....may be successful....maybe not...but am hopeful, and if I am, it's major bonus points and a boost to the self esteem.
    More later

    Hi all,

Well, the DVD is cream crackered, the lens and motors are shot and would cost a fortune to fix. So we have purchased a new one, but can't blooming use it as it needs a HDMI cable to connect to the TV....which the unit doesn't come with gggrrrrrrrr. With all the cables we have in the house, that's the one we don't have (or just can't find). So another trip to the shops tomorrow to get one.

As for the phone, that's top of the list for tomorrow evening

Hope everyone had a great weekend, have a stressless week one and all
