does anyone know if i will be charged interest on items i have returned? my statement shows all items ive ordered, but alot of those have been returned after the statement was printed. interest is charged from the date of statement, so im assuming that until they show as returned, i will be charged interest for the days i had them?

Not sure if you know but if your DP rings up and authorises you to be a named person on the account you can deal with it all.. mine is in my DH's name but im the only one that deals with it... so much easier. :)

I got two more things today that i didnt expect to get and as the jeans were a bargain im now on a diet to fit in to them, LOL!

I'd like to know this too as the same has happened to me.

In theory the answer is no ..

In practise that may not be the case, especially with delayed items

The reason Next origionally reduced the returns period from 14 days to 10 days is because, the system they work on, takes time to process returns, and so to ensure that deliverys and returns are processed on the same statement they reduced the time ( still with me? ) therefore interest would not be charged by accident on items which had infact been returned but too late to show on the statement ..

However, delayed items etc. are like a bug in the system because of course, if you order an item that item within a few working days goes straight onto your account as you having that item, and as far as the system is concerned that item is yours and your not returning it, so if say it takes 2 weeks to arrive, then 10 days to return, the system will have a pending charge since the date the item was ordered (unless of course you paid you bill off in full regardless of whether you were keeping the item - then you would be in credit)

Its really hard to explain to be honest .. because although you dont get charged interest if you pay your balance in full each month, if you dont pay it off you get charged interest FROM THE DATE WHICH SHOWS ON YOUR STATEMENT.

Best thing to do if you think you are being charged excess interest for items returned etc. is to call them .. and dont let them fob you off .. also, write down what you want to say before you ring. Then you can stand your ground when they try and fob you off!!!

    Hope that helps!!

I used to work in credit control so i know the system and how it works however please dont take the above as 100% accurate !! Just thought it might be helpful xx
  • Am I the only person still waiting for loads of things? Maybe I should give them a call as I put several orders through. I'm getting the feeling that maybe one order didn't go through properly.

Im still waiting for quite a few items I ordered from the Sale. Some I ordered with a VIP code and some I ordered on the Saturday. Things are slowly turning up so I am hopeful it will all turn up sooner or later.
  • Same here. Still waiting for 4 items. My statement is due in a few days as well.
