Councillor sent this today.
Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing with regards to Mr and Mrs xxr who need you to support them in their request for a move to a new property.
Current Address
Xxxxxxxxn Croft
Xxxxc
Having looked at Mr and Mrs xxxs situation it is very clear that they would benefit from a transfer to new premises due to the current location no longer being suitable for their needs. This is due to the poor state of both Mr and Mrs xxxxs physical and mental health.
Whilst the property has been assessed as satisfactory for mobility, it is very clear that the property is not suitable for the good of their mental health and is causing them much distress.
Mr and Mrs xxx have documented a catalogue of incidents that have been affecting their daily well-being.
These are in summary:
- Cars being blocked in
- Verbal and written abuse
- Anti-social noise
This situation has been ongoing since residents moved into the flat above them over four years ago.
It has also been stated that Mr xxxr was attacked by a neighbour and doors have been kicked in.
The current situation is that following the attack Mr xxx developed agoraphobia and Mrs xxxr has had a breakdown and as a consequence has had to stop working and has since relapsed badly with anorexia.
The property has clearly become unacceptable for their well-being.
The situation that Mr and Mrs xxxx face is not commonplace and is exceptional, which is why I am writing to ask that you offer Mr and Mrs xxxr a move to resolve these issues which are causing so much distress to them.
It is good to see that the policies and values of the group are resident/tenant led and therefore I hope this is so when reviewing Mr and Mrs xxxxx situation and their voice is heard.0 -
The above makes uncomfortable reading
Who knows whether that and the solicitors contacting them will finally get them to acknowledge we need to move for mental health purposes.0 -
