  • You have both been treated so badly by the people who are supposed to help. Clearly, all of this is going round and round in OH's mind and he has lost his trust. For someone with OCD issues that is a major setback, the thought of losing control over one's life is huge and so far all everyone has done is shown him how little control he has.

Vent as much as you need to, Melly. I would be screaming from the rooftops in your shoes.

I'm right in thinking the FSW should have been working with OH at a time and in a manner he was comfortable with to help get him moved and access additional mental health support aren't I?

    Not
Bombarding him with 3 different sessions in one week.
Telling him that upstairs might just be misunderstood and not threatening at all.
Refusing evening appointments (which is when he is awake)
Telling him one thing then denying it
Going behind his back to get her manager to remove him from the service?

You know how bad he was last year, at least before the end of August last year he would Potter out the front and talk to the neighbours.
He jut had a meltdown because he was outside

I don't know what to do
I also need to sort some money out (cats and getting me there)

    OK
Massage OH, tea and a small rest so I can think clearly.

    He's passed out

    Good
  • Melly I agree with everything WAS is saying . I did fear that he wouldn't cope today . You vent here as much as you like love but go and get the tea and have a break . I don't know if you have put it to him again that he need not go tomorrow , it will not stop him fearing the worst but I think you will have a repeat of today as tomorrow is scarier for him than seeing the doctor today .
Get some rest love so you can clear your head and I'll be back later .
    Hugs to you both
    Love

I know pol I also thought he wouldn't cope I needed him to see though so he knows how bad it is.

I thought he might meltdown not that badly though.

He's worn himself out and is asleep with a stripey and a tomcat (both of whom have a paw on him)

I am going to broach him not going tonight, I think it will be way too much for him, he likes and trusts this GP and he couldn't get in the car.

I'm lying down with dogs, I need to shower at some point but I'm worn out and still worried (his medication is in with me, my alarm dogs will alert me to any attempts to get)
  • Just the things you have listed alone Mel is enough to send someone with OCD into meltdown, nevermind your OH's horrid past too. I know it would trigger my OCD terribly, I would be a wreck and not trusting anyone.

Try to grab a few moments for yourself while he rests and give yourself 10 minutes to think about nothing. Blast some music (through headphones so you don't wake him!), read a trashy magazine, cuddle all the fluffies, do anything to give yourself 10 minutes of not thinking. Then make a list and try to work through the immediate problems one by one.

I know it's not usual, but once tomorrow is out of the way could you see if the GP would consider a home visit? They won't like it, but given the circumstances and that the GP knows your OH issues?

The FSW is through MIND you would think they would have some idea of how to deal with mental illness

Right I'm going to read blind gossip whilst I overheat because dogs generate loooots of heat

    Great
    Upstairs are back

Apparently screaming and jumping on the spot/kicking a door is fine
