I have it on good authority (double glazing salesperson) that every Shell filling station must, by law, have a range of holy books available behind the counter so any religious objections may be overcome.
I'm told there are laminated brass plaques somewhere, in the approved font, advising customers of same.
I'm afraid I can't quote the statute, but my mate knows the law.0 -
Ah but does he build conservatories?0
-
There are good reasons to boycott shell. But more importantly, where do I sign up to the campaign for an IQ test for drivers someone mentioned earlier?0

because of the state of the economy you should use british oil from the north sea not halal country petrol. british petrol like bp is better shown to be good for your car than eastern petrol anyway so it is no brainer.
Isn't North Seas Oil generally light crude and not best used for petrol? But I suppose when you have a "view" about things from overseas and don't like Nigerian Oil as it is a bit black or Middle Eastern Oil which is rather halal what else can you use but oil from Blighty?
I think even your mother would know BP gets oil from all over the world.
Making a book of your comments in this thread might well be a best seller.0 -
So what were you doing at Shell in the first place? It's your fault we're in this recession, buying all this halal oil, you traitor.
FYI, I'm a Catholic. I eat Halal meat. Have you ever read the Bible's teachings on halal meat? I take it you have not.
By refusing halal meat, you are acknowledging that it is somehow tainted by the Muslim prayers, which means that you give validation to the Muslim prayers and therefore give credibility to a god that you are not supposed to believe in.
You bad catholic, you.
Not to be pedantic but.....
The Christian God and the Muslim God are one and the same, both religions (and of course Judaism) stem from Abraham.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christianity_and_Islam#As_Abrahamic_religions
Therefore any prayers said to Allah during the "Halal process" are said to the same God as Christians pray to.
Think the same would apply to Halal petrol as well. :rotfl:0 -
But I thought that petrol from BP wasn't actually petrol but Bee Pee, as someone said earlier on in the thread.
I am confused now !:embarasse:cry:
Wish people would stop confusing me, My head hurts now. Next thing will be that there is no Whiskey in Scotch eggs.0 -
shell removed non halal sandwiches from sale in favour of halal ones despite the fact that this is a predominately devout catholic area. catholicism teaches that shell fuel is morally acceptable, similar to the jewish faith, however this goes directly against that.
serving halal fuel and sandwiches and constantly violating every law in the land mean shell will no longer have my business.)
"Violating every law in the land"? Really?:rotfl:fgs i have had enough of this forum you are all iidiots. i told you my mother was insulted by shell staff and yet everyone sticks up for them even though there criminals.

I don't think it's a case of everyone 'sticking up' for Shell, love.
More like 'you are so wrong, Emz11'.
So, maybe you would care to share with us what laws Shell have broken to make them 'criminals'.
And no, 'every law in the land' won't cut it, Emz11. :rotfl:0 -
Wait, there isn't someone sat in a factory somewhere squeezing pee out of bees?
MOTHER YOU LIED!!!!!!0 -

shell act like they own the place when in fact they arent so as far as im concerned they couldnt give a stuff about any law so can be considered to have broken them.
they have broken the trading standards act by not displaying accurate payment information at the point of payment in a legally recognised manner. additionally they breach the health and safety law requiring workplaces to be safe by employing staff whose english is not satisfactory. they deliberately sell halal sandwiches to attract these workers.0 -
