I did have to laugh when I saw the bits about the dirt sticking to the residue and spelling out the dealer's name and phone number. Left intentionally as free advertising perhaps? ;):D

In all seriousness, the dealership have been sloppy with the presentation of the car, they should remedy all of the issues with the stickers as well as the chip in the paintwork. If I were buying a new car, I would expect it to be immaculately presented.

I don't think anyone genuinely expects a new car to have nobody touch the insides, sat in it, driven it or have the radio tuned to tinpot fm -- otherwise how would the car have got from the factory to the dealership!?

If there is a chip, I'm sure they'll sort it for you.

Go back, be polite. You're a customer remember.
  • OK sounds like I'm overreacting. I'll take it in and get them to valet it and sort the chip in the paintwork. When he told me the car was in the compound I pictured (sounds like wrongly) some big warehouse

Are you very young OP like late teens or early 20s? because it sounds to me like you dont have much understanding about things. You should have looked it over properly before you signed for it.

I wouldnt consider an engine run in until its got at least 1k miles on the clock. 39miles is fine considering this is a foreign marque. It been driven around at least two docks. The stickers and chip is laziness on the part of the dealer.
  • my kia had 24 miles on it when I got it, the dealer explained that All transported cars inc part ex's get tested on the road by them to ensure quality, it had already 13 miles on it when it was sat in the warehouse because they move them about for stock logistics showed me the transporters logistics condition report when the transporter operator collected it.

the model and color i suspect was in stock at another dealership, it was collected via the transported but as I suspect it had been dressed up as an advertisement for a fourcourt front piece, they were removed when they got it off the transporter, but poorly, door chip was probably because the seatbelt clip had been trapped or someones handbag/manbag had slammed into the pillar when people were ogling the interior at its primary location.

I would ask the dealer to address the glue, and the stone chip correctly, have the stone chip noted in the service book for the anti perforation warranty side of things and assured they have addressed the chip in that location. and try and wrangle a renault key chain and Renault mug for the poor service experienced or maybe a Renault sport jacket.
