I was clicking on the link in someone else's reply - strange. But I've registered my interest now, so thanks! :D

  • This appears to be the most recently updated Consumer Pulse thread on here. For shame...

Anyway, random question: does anyone enter Netflix films/tv shows as part of their consumer pulse? It offers an option for renting films/TV via Streaming/Downloading and I was thinking that streaming Netflix would clearly count in this category. It is effectively renting a whole host of DVDs through a subscription, and none of the questions have to be particularly misinterpreted to allow Netflix to fit.

What do folk think? I tend to struggle for things to enter into Consumer Pulse (basically books and video games!), so I'd love it if I could legitimately include Netflix streaming, but I'm wary of taking advantage of it.

I have a similar query with Spotify as I use (and pay) for the student/premium service. I stream and download a lot but obviously only pay one fee yet each time I want to add anything to Consumer Pulse am asked the price of what I downloaded and if it was a one-off or not.

I do add each of the albums I listen to. The reason I've thought it was right to do this is because I think Consumer Pulse is more interested in what I am purchasing (or downloading) as oppose to solely how much I am spending- otherwise you could argue if they were not interested in any of the details or form filling we are asked to do and would just ask what areas we've spend money in regardless of the specifics.

I have not asked Consumer Pulse about this, so this is really just my opinion (and if anyone has a different point of view please correct me). I just don't see why they've added things like Apple Music, Amazon Music, Spotify....etc and even Netflix if they only want part of your data but not all of it- if that is the case, why have they not outlined this or even just sent an instructional email to everyone telling people what to include and what to omit.

Sadly I have just received the following email from CP

"Thank you for helping us with our internet panel. The information that you have given us has been very useful.

Every few months we have to review the panel to make sure that it is representative of the population as a whole, and then make any changes that are needed.

I regret that our latest check has shown that we have too many panel members in your region of the country, and that we will thus not be able to continue to collect information from you.

If you wish to redeem your points please contact 0800 0121 488 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5.30pm) within the next 8 weeks, you will not be able to redeem points from Consumer Pulse after then.

Thank you again for your co-operation. "

Very disappointed to receive this as I have been with them for a number of years & found it one of the best paying surveys to do.

Now can't even log in to see how many points I currently have. At least I recently received the annual points for telcom surveys and my birthday bonus. Bet I've been thrown off as I am now a very old lady!!

In August, I was taken off the panel - as my earlier post above.
Earlier this month I rang to use the outstanding points which were at 48,800. I asked for an uplift to 50,000 points as not far short but told they do not increase. However, the advisor I spoke to agreed it seemed unfair & persuaded his team leader to add the extra points. I was told this could take up to a week to be done on the system & to phone back if I had not heard anything from them.
Just phoned this morning & discovered that the points have still not been added & now waiting to see if they have gone back on their earlier decision.
