Never have done anything with Easter, not religious either. I don't remember getting bought Easter eggs as a kid as mum thought they were a rip off but do remember getting a bag of broken Easter egg pieces after the bank holiday. The local shop use to take them all out of the boxes, smash them up and sell them off cheap in paper bags.

In the country where I was raised we always had a big lunch at the Grandparents or Uncle/Auntie's house. Big gathering lots of kids running about on mad chocolate sugar highs... playing cricket in the back garden, chatting to extended family members, massive lunch etc..

Now I live in Scotland it's not that big of an event. I'm sure it's down to family tradition, however, I do miss the old days....

What do you do, if anything, for Easter Sunday?

Pretty much what you used to do. We are going to do it again tomorrow with my wife's side of the family. :)

Love the sound of all the lunches :-)

Shame it's raining down there... three days of hot sunshine and bright blue sky in Scotland.... unheard of !
  • I'm in the Highlands and just came in cause I have managed to get right hand side of face and right arm sunburned. That's what I get for laughing at ds as he couldn't find a chocolate egg in garden and now it's melted.

We're going to have a big roast dinner. Going to be a big salad now!

We don't do anything special in a religious sense as we're not religious.

We just chilled out this morning, had a nice walk down the local parks, had a late lunch, baked a cake (to give to someone as a thank you present), and we have a roast dinner with the family lined up for later.

    Similar to most Sundays :-)

    We just eat chocolate :o

To be fair we are having a roast for tea and perhaps if there wasn't building work going on in our dining room/lounge we might have arranged something a bit more but both rooms are pretty much out of action!

  • I have to work :( it was family tradition to go to church on easter sunday and i used to keep it up but demand from work means i cant. By the end of today i'll have worked 10 hours with a 3 hour break. The joys of split shifts!

We normally go to the park and hide the eggs for the easter treasure hunt or pay for one already organized but not this year as it is lashing it down with rain, no fun that way, we have an egg each and maybe a roast ,certainly not as much fuss as some people were saying they are going to do (like a xmas gathering with all the trimmings but no presents:eek:) in today because of the weather so will watch some movies also:D

The same as every other Sunday, but with the prospect of tomorrow off work. Pretty much the way I'm aiming to have Christmas day in the future
