  • No traditions at all. Only difference is this year we have a 6mth old little girl to share it with.

I didn't go over the top with presents for her, just got her 'Spot's 1st Easter' and wrote a message from us in it and got her a personalised egg though it's for mummy/daddy to eat, lol.

I just wanted to create memories for her so made my own Easter egg tree to sit on the side table and put her book, Easter egg and Easter outfit next to the tree with a note from the Easter bunny and took loads of photos.

This morning we were out at 9am picking up a washing machine, hahaha.

We didn't buy any Easter eggs for each other, we just made a Easter cake on Good Friday to enjoy today after having steak for dinner.

  • Work usually. Oh my gosh the whining about why the big Tesco is shut..! Can't believe how much stuff people were buying. Or how many times I got asked if we had any Easter Eggs left. Or how many bottles of beer/wine got smashed.

So glad to be home!!! Next year I won't be in retail and intend to bolt the doors and stay inside :)
  • Got up with the kids and made a start on emptying son's room as it's being decorated on Tuesday. Ex collected them at 10am and I carried on decluttering and clearing for 3 more hours. Amazing as I did it in the Xmas hols too. Crickey that child can hoard and mostly toot too. Still it's all done now.

Then I did jobs round the house, huge pile of ironing and put piles of washing away......just domestic humdrum.

Now I'm cooking my tea and considering some paperwork.

I feel very boring, but I had to keep busy and used the radio to drown out the happy family sounds either side of me.

Result though, manage to buy in camouflage son's new duvet set and curtains, light switch, lamp shade, 2 t shirts, military tin for £41 incl postage. He'll be chuffed when I tell him. He loves army, military, camo etc.

Right credit card payment and tax return awaits!!!!

We've just got back from staying with family for the weekend. The children get a chocolate egg each from us and whatever family give them and we had a fun Easter Egg hunt all over my parents' garden yesterday. I spent the afternoon shut away with my mum and a bottle of wine working out cryptic clues, it was great fun and followed by a meal out. We don't do cards, presents, decorations or anything else.

Today was church for my parents and then a light roast for lunch followed by lots of playing outdoors and talking to my lovely 94 year old Granny in the sunshine, it's just a chance to be with family really. The perfect Easter for me.

I was working, every Easter Fun Day needs a face painter! ( I used to work in my previous nursing life too )
Home after a very busy afternoon at a really lovely Community Garden on a sunny day in Glasgow. We have eaten and enjoyed a fab lamb curry, a new recipe for me, courtesy of the lovely folks on the Old-Style board.
Having made chocolate and cashews my Lenten sacrifice, I will be enjoying my Easter Eggs AND the Mother's Day chocs that I didn't eat...until now :-)
Have a peaceful and joyful Easter or even Eostre/Ishtar xx

    I've been Money Tipped!
Often we nod to religions of background ( their are two and both relevant this time of year) but this year we just plodded on with our garden and laughing, enjoying time together with the long weekend, wishing we could have more like this. :).

It's only early afternoon with me but so far I've made breakfast, unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher and done 2 loads of washing. Next I need to run to the supermarket, then I'll need to make lunch, tidy up, clean out the pets, make dinner etc. Weekends are particularly long and boring at the moment as OH can't go anywhere.

I always loved Easter as a child - I always got a new dress, we went to church, rolled hard-boiled eggs somewhere and then usually went to a farm or country park - somewhere with baby animals! We always had a lovely meal and then tuck into a chocolate egg. Unfortunately it's just an ordinary day for us here (and the chocolate is so terrible I can't eat it anyway!).
