Being honest doesn't always pay!
I had two of an item delivered, so contacted them to let them know. Bulky but only worth £15. They wanted me to pay for return postage, then suggested I take a day holiday to wait in for a courier, then suggested I pay for it! I was made to feel like it was me in the wrong.
The op should not be inconvenienced by their mistake if she chooses to contact them.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

Thats different. I would have asked for them to pay the return postage or arrange collection at a time convenient to myself.
In this situation, I would phone the shop, explain what has happened and advised I would return the item when next in town.
Being honest does pay - otherwise where do you draw the line.0 -
I've learnt a lot about certain posters from this thread. Apparently it's fine to rip-off a high street retailer, but not to rip off an independent retailer. Good to know.One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

High street retailers do their best to rip off customers everyday with their misleading offers. I personally would have no problem whatsoever keeping the extra garment, in my mind it's a little bit of pay back.0

And cue MSK to post in 3....2....1....One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

Just take it back when you're next in town.
Don't even know why it's a question to ask. They certainly can't accuse you of shoplifting as they would have zero evidence. That would only happen if you were trying to return it for a refund with no receipt ...0 -

It's not theft
Really?(1)A person is guilty of theft if he dishonestly appropriates property belonging to another with the intention of permanently depriving the other of it;
....
“Appropriates”.
(1)Any assumption by a person of the rights of an owner amounts to an appropriation, and this includes, where he has come by the property (innocently or not) without stealing it, any later assumption of a right to it by keeping or dealing with it as owner.
