I was 27 and hubby 35 when we had our first (we had met 18 months earlier) - we were both working and had a nice home and we felt ready. Our second came along when I was 30 and hubby 38. I have to say though that I am a bit envious of my friends who are similar ages most of them have children who are now not requiring childcare (mine still are they are 13 & 11).

My husband is now nearly 49 and feeling his age with the kids I think. I wouldnt wanted to have waited any longer for his sake to be honest.
