Its also next to impossible (but not totally) to clone the chip part of a chip'n'pin card.

Unhappily this isn't the first thread I've seen on here of this nature, it does seem quite a common problem. I'm sorry for the slight drubbing the OP has received on here; hope it all turns out well for her. x

Clip join is a bit different. They threaten people to pay up. From reading the OP it doesn't sound like he was forced to pay.
    Nope not necessarily

OP get your oh to speak to other members of the party. Have they been charged for anything at all? If they haven't it sounds like he's ended up paying for everything. Could it be he agreed to put it on one card with them paying later but in a drunken haze they've forgotten?

More importantly do they have similar levels of charges? If they do then you really need to make this a police matter as soon as possible. There will only be a reasonable amount of money that can be spent in a specific time frame and as a pp suggests, the police will be able to access the CCTV system. Any honest club will keep these records too for a reasonable time.

Sorry you're going through this OP. Unfortunately many men do end up overspending in these places, surrounded by drink and semi naked women and perhaps mates egging them on. And then more unfortunately they realise when the bank statement comes in and cry foul. I'm not saying that you're OH is lying just that on the face of it, it will seem to many including the bank if chip and pin was used that it is simply a case of overspending and getting caught out.

Is there any chance someone else in his party used his card? If there is, again this needs to become a police matter. But the difficulty you then have is if that person claims your OH freely gave them the PIN number.

    Good luck!

    Xx
