That annoys me too. Job competence and skin condition are not linked at all. Someone might have great skin, but be terrible at their job. Someone might suffer from chronic, painful acne, but be amazing at their job and be in senior management. Swap "spotty" for a skin colour and suddenly their dig doesn't seem so acceptable in polite conversation.
And before anyone complains that it's not the same, it is. Your opinion of them is lowered because of a characteristic over which they had no choice.0
