    My 123 current a/c card and my 123 Credit Card are both contactless.

    Haven't used either of them in that manner.

    Can't think when I ever will either.

    You should be able to get one now, there's a thread elsewhere on the forum.

    Just phoned them - I'm not eligible for any type of contactless debit card apparently. If I want one, I've got to go in branch and complete an application.

    Strange, as others have got them. Do you already have a debit card on the account?

    Yup, it's the standard online card that starts 465858. The account was only opened recently. Maybe they want to see some usage before they give me a contactless card...

    What is the big hoohah about contactless?

    Is this the thing I can use to pay for my groceries as I whoosh down a gigantic waterslide in my Speedos?

    I can't imagine that scenario ever presenting itself, again.

    Its very convenient for small purchases in shops, most of the time I can pay before they've put my stuff in a bag. Adding up it probably saves quite of a bit of time (+ not having to carry change around).
    Best bet is to just give it a go and if you don't like it use the old fashioned route.

    to some people its the sign of improved credit worthness as some banks restrich the issue of contactless card
